5 Moves to Make for Week 6

Adds, buys, and sells to make for your fantasy teams in Week 6!

We are heading into Week 6, so it is time to go big when it comes to what moves you should be making to win your fantasy football leagues! Bye weeks, injuries, and so much more come into play at this point in the season. Your draft pick cost doesn’t matter anymore. Usage and what we have seen IN SEASON does. We are leaning heavily on the Falcons this week but hang around until the end as we are shooting for the stars this week for our BUY of Week 6.

More than just your standard waiver wire article, 5 Moves to Make will highlight players to watch, cut, and trade for, as well as players you should prioritize before waivers run. It’s your one-stop shop for improving your team week to week. I am excited to bring this article to QB List, and you can look for it EVERY SINGLE TUESDAY MORNING!

Now grab your caffeine, put on your do not disturb Teams and Slack statuses, and let’s get better for Week 3 together.

1. Sell Bijan Robinson

The schedule has not been friendly to Bijan this season, as he has faced a top-half-of-the-league run defense in four out of five weeks. That being said, there is still plenty of reason for concern. Bijan has shown a lack of long speed to truly be a home run threat so far. He may still have that in his tool belt, but we have seen very little evidence of it in 2024. Additionally, he has seen his usage and peripheral metrics get worse as the season has gone on. Robinson has seen less than a 15% target share in each of the last three games, and he is not only not seeing targets, but he is also running fewer routes. The reality is that the Falcons have two very good running backs on their team, and they are using both Robinson and Tyler Allgeier. Allgeier is inching closer and closer to that 40% snap share number, and while he has been hit or miss, he is taking Robinson off the field more than fantasy managers expected.

The time to shop Robinson may be now, as Bijan is heading into a smash matchup against the Carolina Panthers. If you can stomach not having Bijan for potentially his best performance of the season, you can move him now for the likes of Jahmyr Gibbs, and that is an easy trade to make. Gibbs is a prime trade candidate considering he is past his Bye week now and has nine matchups against the bottom half of the league’s rush defenses between now and the fantasy football championship.

2. Sell Kyle Pitts

The most heartbreaking of my moves to make is to SELL Kyle Pitts. Pitts had a strong performance in Week 5, posting seven receptions and 88 yards on eight targets. The performance ignited hope in Pitts truthers everywhere. The sad reality is that his target share numbers were still below 15%. He saw his highest snap share since Week 1, though, and faces the Cardinals next week, which opens a great window to sell high on the volatile tight end. Like with all sell candidates, you are not selling for just anything. Some players I would be trading for while moving Pitts would be Jameson Williams, George Pickens, Ladd McConkey, Tank Bigsby+, or Braelon Allen+. Improve your team when selling Pitts. If you can’t find the right option, then you can hold off for a week or two, as his value may climb some more during that time. However, as Pitts managers know, SHOULD is a terrifying word.

3. Buy Darnell Mooney

In a trend that ends with Mooney, we are once again talking about an Atlanta Falcon. Darnell Mooney is the Falcons’ new favorite weapon, which is both infuriating and something every fantasy manager should have seen coming. We play a dumb game wipes away a single tear. Mooney has seen 37 targets across his last four games. Not only that, but Kirk Cousins continues to look better and better. To the detriment of Kyle Pitts, Mooney has established himself as a 20+% target share player in Atlanta’s offense, surpassing 25% each of the last four games. He is a buy-high player in fantasy football, and any manager who is rostering him right now may still think that this is a flash in the pan. Some players I would be okay moving on from for Mooney would be Tony Pollard, Zack Moss, Terry McLaurin, and Diontae Johnson.

4. Add Ja’Lynn Polk

Ja’Lynn Polk is only rostered in 8% of Yahoo fantasy football leagues right now. It makes sense. The rookie has been scarcely used, and his production has been minimal throughout the first five weeks of the season. All of these things make the Patriot a great ADD NOW candidate because you can do it for free or even after waivers have run. His snap share has increased every week of this season, hitting 83% two weeks ago and 100% last week. The Patriots are seemingly getting sick of the Jacoby Brissett experience, which means Drake Maye‘s time is coming. It’s a move that will not fix this offense, but it makes young players like Ja’Lynn Polk significantly more interesting, especially as we approach the heart of bye weeks. Polk has seen 6.5 targets per game over the last two weeks, and his ceiling will be limited, but he could have some FLEX viability shortly. Polk was one of my favorite off-the-radar wide receivers in this draft cycle, with solid route running and vice grips for hands.

5. Buy Breece Hall

It has been tough sledding for the Jets’ standout running back, as he has totaled 55 yards over his last two games combined. Not only that, but his involvement in the passing game has worsened as well. He is averaging 2.5 receptions per game in that time compared to 5.3 in his first three weeks of the season. The matchups have not been on his side, as he has faced two of the most formidable run defenses in the league this season. The other concern, of course, is that rookie Braelon Allen has been incredible when he has gotten on the field. Allen is a fair concern, but there is nothing that says that Hall cannot thrive with a 60/40 split with Allen for the rest of the season. Hall faces only three defenses that rank in the top half of the league for the rest of the season. There will be games where Allen leads the charge, but you have a great BUY window for Breece Hall, and that is something that rarely presents itself. Some players I would be trading for Breece Hall right now are Bijan Robinson, Kyren Williams, Jordan Mason, and Garrett Wilson.
