Jacksonville Jaguars

Marquise Lee Back…Sort of

Lee was taken off the PUP list Saturday but will not see any game action this week, joining teammate Alfred Blue. He has not suffered any setbacks and has been able to perform drills during the past few days. Lee is penciled in at the top of the Jaguars’ WR position on the depth chart and will look to pick up where he left off. He and Dede Westbrook will be enticing picks in drafts this year but are unknown commodities with new QB Nick Foles.

Foles’s First Action

Nick Foles has yet to take the field in any game with the Jaguars. He will get that chance Thursday. It is unclear exactly how long we will see him and the first-team play. They will likely play into the second quarter and it will be exciting to see someone other than Blake Bortles dawn the black and teal at starting quarterback. It will also be interesting to see Foles with a new offense and players that are arguably not as talented as the ones back in Philly. This offense could surprise us all and offer sneaky-good value on draft day.

Miami Dolphins

A Barrage of Ballage?

Kenyan Drake was in a walking boot as of last week. This could mean that Kalen Ballage gets all of the work he can handle with the first team. The battle had been almost an even split the entire camp but now Drake could miss the rest of the preseason and even early regular-season action. Ballage remains the surest thing the Dolphins have in their backfield with unproven guys behind him. Ballage’s current ADP is resting at pick 109 and that could be a major steal before this is all said and done.

Quarterback Battle Still Not Decided?

Head Coach Brian Flores stated Monday that he would not necessarily make up his mind on the starting quarterback after this week’s preseason game. This battle seems like it will go down to the wire. Throughout this preseason it has been reported that veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick had the upper hand on Josh Rosen. However, with the Dolphins in nothing short of a rebuild, it would be more beneficial to roll with Rosen. Fitzmagic has had his time in the spotlight and now it is time to see what the young kid can do. Let’s just hope the coach will see it that way in week one.
