Week 9 was pretty good for those who went elite QB in this year’s drafts, with Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow making up four of the top six QBs in fantasy points heading into Monday night. Sure, I have some FOMO, but that won’t prevent me from looking ahead to Week 10 for some streamer options at the position. Four teams are on bye (Packers, Browns, Raiders, and Seahawks), but from a quarterback standpoint, most of the notable names in the fantasy world will be lining up in Week 10. Still, we can find some plus matchups this upcoming week as well as get into some names to know as the fantasy playoffs and future bye weeks approach. At least for the QB streamers this week, New York football isn’t dead! As always, we’ll keep the options to signal-callers who are available in under 70% of Yahoo leagues.
Daniel Jones, New York Giants (10% rostered):
Yes, I’m a Giants fan, and yes, it’s clear the Giants and Daniel Jones have to part ways in 2025, but that doesn’t mean he can’t help your fantasy teams in Week 10. The Giants travel to Munich, Germany to face the Panthers, who give up the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, according to NFL.com. As frustrating of a player as Daniel can be from a Giants fan perspective, he’s usually good for a few boom weeks (30+ fantasy points in Week 9 against the Commanders), and Week 10 is another great opportunity for Jones to fill up the stat sheet. One of the more appealing aspects of Jones is his rushing ability, as he has at least 30 rushing yards in four of his nine games in 2024, giving him a nice floor for fantasy points. There won’t be many (if any) other weeks where you can feel confident about Daniel Jones in your starting lineup, but if your quarterback situation is in question for any number of reasons (injuries, under-performing play), Jones against a poor Panthers defense is a sneaky good option. He’s likely available in your league and also likely won’t command much FAAB money to acquire him this week.
Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets (43% rostered):
Two New York quarterbacks in the streaming article? Yeah, I may regret this, but if it’s going to happen any week, it’s this one. It was only for one half, but if last week against the Texans is any indication, this Jets offense may have finally turned the corner after the addition of Davante Adams. Rodgers and Adams turned back the clock to 2021 in Week 9, and A-Rod’s connection with Garrett Wilson looks better every week. A quality streaming option needs good weapons around him for easy fantasy points, and Rodgers undoubtedly has that in Wilson and Adams, along with Breece Hall in the backfield. Now the Jets get the Cardinals in Week 10 and the Colts the following week, who give up the 10th and 11th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, respectively. I could easily fall flat on my face for this one, but it would feel like a big miss if Rodgers and the Jets offense figure things out in a good matchup, and he’s not even mentioned here.
Drake Maye, New England Patriots (11% rostered):
I went back and forth with who to include as the third option this week, but let’s take a shot with a less obvious name. If you were still rolling out Dak Prescott (lost for multiple weeks with a hamstring injury) or will be without Jordan Love during his bye week, Maye is widely available in most leagues and provides QB1 potential, mainly because of his rushing ability. According to Ryan Heath of fantasypoints.com, Maye is averaging six rushing attempts and 59.7 rushing yards per four quarters. He has at least 15 fantasy points in each of the three full games he’s completed this year. Maye’s weapons in the passing game leave a lot to be desired, as we all know, meaning there’s no reason to think he won’t continue to run to help generate offense. The Bears have a tough matchup in Week 10, but a quarterback who’s available in almost 90% of leagues that provides the type of rushing ability he does can’t be ignored as a possible streamer option.
Other names to know:
Matthew Stafford and Tua Tagovailoa very well could have ended up as the top three options for Week 10, but I think most people reading this understand Stafford and Tua will consistently hover around as quality streaming options most weeks, considering their supporting cast. Justin Herbert, who has mostly flown under the fantasy radar in drafts and throughout the season, has started to look like a much more viable streaming option in recent weeks. He’s thrown for 349, 279, and 282 yards each of the past three games, along with four touchdowns. Ryan Heath of fantasyponts.com noted Herbert has dropped back at least 34 times in each of the past four games since their bye week, showing Herbie may have more opportunities through the air than we thought. Speaking of bye weeks, Stafford, Tua, and Herbert all have had their off weeks already, potentially helpful info as Weeks 12 and 14 each have six teams on their bye.
