We are officially in double-digit week territory! Welcome back to another week of QB streamers, where I highlight three signal callers with sub-70% roster rates (on Yahoo! Sports) based on a variety of different reasons — personnel, weapons, previous performances, analytics, matchups, and so on.
Week 9 was headlined by the miraculous Joe Flacco and his diabolical 470-yard, 4 TD effort in (somehow) a loss to the Chicago Bears on a massive, late-game defensive blunder. Flacco has been everything and more this Bengals team has asked him to be. The next-closest signal caller to Flacco in terms of passing yards was Daniel Jones, nearly 130 yards behind. Unfortunately he kept the trend going with an upset loss to the Steelers. Seahawks’ Sam Darnold was electric in his win against the Commanders, Ravens’ Lamar Jackson tallied four touchdowns on just 24 passing attempts while turning in a 143.2 passer rating, and Rams’ Matthew Stafford continues his dynamic season as a dark horse to win MVP. Yes, he is 100% in my MVP conversation.
Now, let’s dive into which QBs to stream in Week 10!
C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
| Opponent | Matchup Rating | Yahoo! Roster Rate | Proj. Pts |
| vs. JAX | 2/5 | 62% | 18.03 |
This all hinges on Stroud’s health, obviously. Prior to leaving the game early on Sunday, Stroud went 6-for-10, throwing for 79 yards and rushing for 12, leading his team down the field into field goal territory twice. Before last week, Stroud finally clicked against San Francisco, throwing for 318 yards and 2 touchdowns while amassing a 106.6 passer rating and a 77% completion rate.
Per Head Coach DeMeco Ryans and ESPN’s D.J. Bien-Aime, Stroud is ‘feeling better’ but remains in concussion protocol after taking a bit hit on a six-yard scramble early in Houston’s loss to Denver. While his status is up in the air, if he does play, he has a great matchup against the Jags — a team allowing 102 PPR points per game to opposing offenses, plus the T-3rd most (~23 points) points per game to QBs.
Jaxson Dart, New York Giants
| Opponent | Matchup Rating | Yahoo! Roster Rate | Proj. Pts |
| @ CHI | 4/5 | 68% | 18.33 |
No Malik Nabers? No Cam Skattebo? No problem, fantasy-wise, that is. Dart was spectacular against a tough 49ers team, going 24-for-33, yielding a career-high in completion percentage (73%) and passer rating (107) with 191 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. He also was electric running the ball, tallying eight carries for 56 yards and a touchdown. Dart has now rushed for a tuddy in four consecutive games and has gone for 50+ yards on the ground in four of his first six starts as a pro.
Dart faces a terrible Bears defense — T-3rd most points allowed to QBs per game, 4th most overall points per game, 5th most total PPR points allowed per game — coming off of a combined 89-point defensive disasterclass against the Bengals.
J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings
| Opponent | Matchup Rating | Yahoo! Roster Rate | Proj. Pts |
| vs. BAL | 3/5 | 29% | 18.65 |
The 22-year-old signal caller is coming off a nifty win against a contending Lions team, where he went 14-for-25 (56%) with 143 yards and 2 TDs, plus carried the ball nine times for twelve yards and a touchdown, in his first game since September 14th. He wasn’t perfect by any means, throwing an interception and making some additional ticky-tack mistakes, but he did look improved compared to when we last saw him. His ability to run may not be Jaxson Dart-like (as seen above), but he’s still a threat with the legs if the play breaks down.
McCarthy has by far and away the best matchup on the waiver wire this week, facing off against a Baltimore defense that’s allowed the sixth-most PPR points on a per-game basis this season, including over 20 points per game to QBs alone. Not to mention, the Vikings’ next eight games all come against teams that rank in the bottom half of the league in terms of points per game allowed to QBs. He’s both a short-term and long-term fit if you believe in the talent.
That’s it for this week! If there are any questions, comments, concerns, or you want to see more (MLB, NFL, etc.), feel free to hit my official Pitcher List/QB List social media up @ggeiss_PL and I’d be happy to chat!
