Welcome back to another week of QB streamers, where I highlight three signal callers with sub-70% roster rates (on Yahoo! Sports) based on a variety of different reasons — personnel, weapons, previous performances, analytics, matchups, and so on.
Week 4 was filled with some really fantastic QB performances. Rams’ Matthew Stafford was last week’s leader in passing yards (375) in his team’s win against the Colts. He was tied for second in touchdown passes with Packers’ Jordan Love, who had a monster week, throwing for 337 yards (3rd in Week 4) in a high-scoring affair with the Cowboys. It was Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes who led last week in passing touchdowns with 4 total. Patriots’ Drake Maye continues to excel — he led all QBs with a 155.6 passer rating in Week 4. Not only that, but he joined some elite competition: the only player in NFL history with more consecutive games with 75% completion (or better) and 2+ TDs is… Tom Brady (4 games in 2007). The others on that list include Peyton Manning (2x: 3 games in 2004, 2013), Aaron Rodgers (3 games in 2011), and Kurt Warner (3 games in 2001). All of whom ended up winning MVP in their respective years and are current/future Hall of Famers.
Now, let’s dive into which QBs to stream in Week 5!
Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

vs. SF | 4/5 | 42% | 15.99 |
As seen above, Stafford was last week’s passing yards leader, making him the most obvious choice as a sub-70% RR waiver wire add. His connection with star wideout Puka Nacua has been second-to-none, literally, and he’s found free agent addition Davante Adams for 50+ yards and 1+ TDs in three consecutive games.
Stafford, now 37 years old, is in line to post his career-high PFF grade both overall (90.6) and in the passing department (90.8), both metrics ranking inside the top 5 among QBs this season. He’s second in passing yards (1,114), just five behind the next QB with a significantly higher average (8.2 yards per attempt), he’s tied for second in passing touchdowns (8), all while limiting turnover-worthy plays well and making big-time throws (10 total, ranks 2nd in NFL). While the 49ers have been stingy against opposing QBs, they recently lost Nick Bosa for the season, which should give Stafford more time to work in the pocket. Stafford has a chance to feed Nacua and go off in this divisional matchup.
Justin Fields, New York Jets
Opponent | Matchup Rating | Yahoo! Roster Rate | Proj. Pts |
vs. DAL | 4/5 | 70% | 18.13 |
Fields is set to make his second start after injury this week against the Cowboys, a team that’s been absolutely abysmal on defense, let alone the passing game. They rank dead last in total yards allowed in 2025 with a whopping 1,682, with 1,189 coming via the air — over 100 more than the next-worst team. All this while allowing the second-most points (132), one behind the worst in the NFL, is simply not ideal. At least, for them it’s not. Maybe they could use a certain game-changing playmaker on that side of the ball?
Fields looked solid in his Week 1 debut in green, going 16-for-22 with 218 yards, a 119.1 passer rating, and a touchdown while carrying the ball twelve times for 48 yards and two scores. Prior to leaving Week 2 early with a concussion, Fields had already carried the ball five times for 49 yards against the Bills. He owns an intriguing 9.1 ADOT (average depth of target) and is a huge threat with the legs when healthy. I like this matchup a lot.
Jaxson Dart, New York Giants
Opponent | Matchup Rating | Yahoo! Roster Rate | Proj. Pts |
@ NO | 2/5 | 23% | 14.04 |
Welcome to the Dart Side! In his first career start, Dart went 13-for-20 for 111 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 54 yards and a score. He made zero turnover-worthy plays.
PFF’s Nathan Jahnke had a good note on Dart: the only QBs over the past two seasons with 10+ carries (excluding kneel downs) for 50+ yards and 1+ TDs are Jayden Daniels, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Justin Fields. There are certainly higher floor options on the waiver wire, notably Stafford fits that bill quite well, but Dart’s ability to run makes him so intriguing. He already ranks 6th in designed run yards among QBs. He has a solid matchup this week against the Saints, who allow the sixth-most points to opposing QBs.
That’s it for this week! If there are any questions, comments, concerns, or you want to see more (MLB, NFL, etc.), feel free to hit my official Pitcher List/QB List social media up @ggeiss_PL and I’d be happy to chat!
