Quarterback Streamers: Week 9

Diving into three QBs to stream to help win your weekly matchup!

Welcome back to another week of QB streamers, where I highlight three signal callers with sub-70% roster rates (on Yahoo! Sports) based on a variety of different reasons — personnel, weapons, previous performances, analytics, matchups, and so on.

Week 8 was headlined by none other than Packers’ Jordan Love, who was miraculous, throwing for 360 yards and 3 TDs. Yet somehow, his 134.2 passer rating ranked fifth amongst qualified signal callers! Eagles’ Jalen Hurts continues to be a steady producer, turning in a week-best 141.5 passer rating and throwing for the T-most TDs (4) against the Giants. Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa had himself a bounce-back outing, throwing for 4 TDs on an efficient 77% completion rate. Additional AFC standouts include Drake Maye and Daniel Jones, both of whom continue to look elite in their respective roles. Shades of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning? (I’m only half joking.)

Now, let’s dive into which QBs to stream in Week 9!

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

@ NYG 2/5 66% 17.33

Purdy finds himself at the top of the QB waiver wire this week. Once a solid mid-round selection heading into the year, Purdy’s stock (or roster rate) has rapidly declined thanks to missing six of his first eight games dealing with a multitude of injuries. When he’s on the field, he’s fine for the most part. Turnovers have been an issue since making his pro debut, throwing 27 interceptions in 33 games, including an even 1.0 TD/INT ratio (4 apiece) in 2025, but he always finds a way to make up for it fantasy-wise thanks to his ability to turn in big touchdown numbers.

Purdy faces a Giants defense that allows the third-most PPR fantasy points per game to signal callers, not to mention the squad has allowed 33 points or more in each of their last three games.

Joe Flacco, Cincinnati Bengals

vs. CHI 3/5 61% 14.05

Unc still got it! Flacco, 40, has been impressive for the most part since joining the Bengals’ offensive scheme, really connecting with superstar Ja’Marr Chase and even early rounder Tee Higgins — a player who’s seen a major uptick in fantasy production since the new QB arrived. Cincy’s offense is on a steady rise, scoring a combined 71 points over two weeks while getting the veteran acclimated to the offense. Flacco has already thrown for 7 touchdowns with no turnovers in three weeks, plus his volume is perfect if you need a QB that’s going to go out and attempt 35+ passes per game.

He faces a Bears defense that has managed to allow the sixth-most PPR points per game to fantasy QBs in 2025.

Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks

vs. WSH 2/5 36% 15.05

It’s fun to see Darnold balling again. The 28-year-old ranks 10th in passing yards and 7th in QBR among all NFL quarterbacks, leading the Seahawks to a 5-2 start. He didn’t even get to pump those numbers up this week, folks. Darnold has seven touchdown passes over his last three games has really started to find his groove this month. The performance against the Bucs, turning in an 82% completion rate, 135.4 passer rating, and nearly 350 yards with four scores, is still one of the best we’ve seen all year.

Fresh off a bye week, Darnold looks to continue his quality play against the Commanders, a team tied for allowing the sixth-most PPR points per game to fantasy QBs in 2025. They’ve also allowed the sixth-highest overall PPR points per game as a whopping 103.4 (via FantasyData). This should be a good offensive matchup.

That’s it for this week! If there are any questions, comments, concerns, or you want to see more (MLB, NFL, etc.), feel free to hit my official Pitcher List/QB List social media up @ggeiss_PL and I’d be happy to chat!
