Sleeper Spotlight: David Montgomery
Chicago Bears
Quarterback:
- Mitchell Trubisky (Sit)
If you’re desperate, I guess I could see starting Mitchell Trubisky this week. The Packers aren’t a great matchup for him, they’ve given up the seventh-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, but the Dallas Cowboys were supposed a semi-tough matchup too (though not as tough as Green Bay), and Trubisky torched them for 244 yards, three passing touchdowns, 63 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown to the tune of 32 fantasy points. But look, it’s the fantasy playoffs, don’t get cute. If Trubisky is your only QB, I’m amazed you made it to the playoffs, and if he isn’t, you probably have better options. In two-quarterback leagues though, he’s not a horrible idea. He’s just super risky.
Running backs:
- David Montgomery (Start/Flex)
- Tarik Cohen (PPR: Start/Flex; non-PPR: Sit)
Neither Bears running back is the most exciting option. The best of the two is Montgomery given how much the Bears tend to lean on him. He’s been useful, getting 86 yards on 20 carries last week and 75 yards on 16 carries the week before, but he’s not involved in the passing game at all, and that limits his upside, especially in PPR. All that being said, the Packers have a bad run defense, allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs so far this year, so if Montgomery gets the work, I could see him grabbing a touchdown. I also wouldn’t be overly shocked if the Bears go run-heavy in this game, being that the Packers are way more beatable on the ground than in the air.
Meanwhile, for Cohen, he’s only useful in PPR leagues, and even then he’s just a flex play. He’s had at least five catches in three out of the past four weeks, though he’s averaging just about 29 receiving yards per game too, and has just three receiving touchdowns on the year. He’s an alright flex play.
Wide receivers:
- Allen Robinson (Start/low-end WR1/high-end WR2)
- Anthony Miller (Start/Flex)
Since Trubisky has started looking better, Robinson has too, which makes sense considering A-Rob is Trubisky’s favorite target. Over the past three weeks, Robinson has scored at least 21 points and has four receiving touchdowns. He’s also averaging 10 targets a game in that span. Like I said earlier, the Packers are a tough matchup in the secondary, and Robinson is likely going to match up against Jaire Alexander for much of the game, which is tough. But given his involvement in the passing game, he’s easily a high-end WR2/low-end WR1.
Anthony Miller has also benefited from Trubisky’s improved play, logging double-digit fantasy points in each of the past four weeks, including a nice nine-catch, 140-yard performance in Week 13. He’ll likely match up against Tramon Williams this week, which is also a tough matchup, but if Alexander is shutting down Robinson, I could see Trubisky turning Miller’s way a bit. He represents a decent flex play.
Green Bay Packers
Quarterback:
- Aaron Rodgers (Start)
Sure, Aaron Rodgers hasn’t been “Aaron Rodgers” this year, but he’s still been a QB1, albeit a low-end QB1. The Bears are a tough matchup for him, so far this year they’ve given up the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, and when the Packers and Bears played in Week 1, Rodgers was fairly unimpressive. Still, unless you have a better option (and perhaps you do), I’d likely start him. I wouldn’t expect the world from him, but I think he’s usable.
Running backs:
- Aaron Jones (Start/low-end RB1/high-end RB2)
- Jamaal Williams (Start/Flex)
Aaron Jones was amazing last week, posting 134 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown and 6 catches for 58 yards. This is the nature of owning Aaron Jones, he’s either incredible or he’s pumping out three or four points for you. The hits have been more common than the misses, meaning you have to start him, but be prepared for a more muted game than last week. It’s worth mentioning, however, that the Bears’ run defense hasn’t been nearly as good as their pass defense. They’ve allowed the 16th-most fantasy points to opposing running backs this year, so they’re right in the middle of the road, meaning Jones might not get shut down.
Then there’s Jamaal Williams, who hasn’t had the ceiling of Jones but has had a higher floor for the most part. He’s likely not going to outwork Jones unless he goes off and Jones struggles, but his involvement in the offense warrants him a start as a decent flex play.
Wide receivers/Tight ends:
- Davante Adams (Start/WR1)
- Jimmy Graham (Sit)
As far as Packers receivers go, it’s pretty simple: it’s Davante Adams and nothing else. Sure, Adams hasn’t been incredible, but he’s been pretty solid (last week’s game against Washington notwithstanding). The Bears have a solid secondary, but I think Adams can overcome that as long as Rodgers is throwing a decent amount, meaning Adams should still be a solid WR1 this week.
Meanwhile, there’s no tight ends worth starting here. Jimmy Graham is hurt and even so has logged a total of six catches in his past four games, meaning he’s not worth using, nor is Marcedes Lewis, his backup. It’s Davante Adams and that’s it.
-Ben Palmer
Should I start Hollywood Brown or Terry McLauren
McLauren, he’s got a better floor.
My RB’s in standard scoring are: Chubb, Kamara, Miles Sanders, Mostert, DeAndre Washington and Latavius Murray. Can you give me the top three to start (Assume that Howard and Jacobs are out)?
Based on matchups and production, the thought has crossed my mind to sit Kamara.
I can’t bench Kamara, I’d roll with him and Chubb for sure, but choosing between Sanders, Mostert, and Washington is tough. I might ride the hot hand with Mostert and hope that offense keeps rolling.
Full ppr. Should I start mostert or Singletary?
I have to start 3 D.Cook K.Hunt P.lindsey A.Jones which 3 should I start also J.Jones T.Lockett S.Shepard or Z.Pascal which 2 should I start
which 2 would you pick? Sutton, Kirk, AJ Brown, Fuller (ppr)
I have a high quality problem coming into this week.
Woods vs Dal
Cooper vs Rams
D hop vs ten
Obj vs Ari
Have to sit one of them in a standard league. Thoughts?

Should I flex Tarik Cohen or John Brown? Also have Zach Pascal.
Should I start Mostert or AJ Brown in the Flex? HALF PPR
I need 1 wr. and 1 flex to fill. I have slayton, deebo and dk metcalf. Need help with this please. Thanks.
I guess I’m going with my gut. Deebo and slayton.
Kamara or Mostert?
Kirk Slayton or Mack, pick two.
Rn i’ve got Slayton as my WR 3 and need to figure out who to flex.
Watson or Brees week 15? (bonus @ 300, 400 yds) 6 pptd
Touchdown only league – Mahomes vs. Saints or, Tannehill vs. Lions?
Cracks me up when ya’ll ask someone to pick half your lineup. The fun is fantasy is guessing and managing your own team…why turn it all over to someone who’s guessing, just like you. It’s gambling. Would you ask someone to guess your die roll or would you just roll it? Lmao
