Tennessee Titans

Quarterback:

  • Marcus Mariota (Sit)

This season, Marcus Mariota has been just a guy at the quarterback position, averaging 201 yards and 2 touchdowns per game. While this is respectable for the Titans signal-caller, it isn’t a stat line you are reaching to start as your QB, even if you are looking to replace Drew Brees or Ben Roethlisberger. There are much better options that you will see in this thread you should be looking to start, Mariota can be left on the wire.

Running Back:

  • Derrick Henry(RB1, Start)
  • Dion Lewis(Sit)

Derrick Henry has been nothing short of spectacular this season, and now gets a Jags defense that has been more like swiss cheese against the run as opposed to the stone wall that we have been used to the past couple of years. With the Jags defense in disarray with the Jalen Ramsay news, Henry should continue to get fed. Averaging a little over 80 yards and a score on the ground to go along with a few catches this season, Henry will be the focal point of this ground and pound attack. Dion Lewis is only averaging 5 touches a game and so he is better left on your bench as a simple handcuff to Henry with no flex appeal.

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends:

  • Corey Davis(Sit)
  • Adam Humphries(Sit)
  • AJ Brown(Bench Stash)
  • Delanie Walker(Start/TE1)

Corey Davis has always been a guy of what-ifs? What if he finally lives up to his potential? What if he finally gets a WR1 share of targets? Well, you need to leave that narrative. Unless something drastic happens, this guy will not be helping you win games anytime soon. After laying a goose egg in Week 1, he put up a paltry 6 fantasy points in Week 2. This is a guy who isn’t getting targets enough to matter and he can be left on benches. Adam Humphries is a guy that many thought would have a shot at some PPR floor this season, but with three catches for four yards on the year, he is looking better left for the waiver wire. AJ Brown is a guy who has already gone over 100 yards in Week 1 after a flashy catch and run. He came back down to earth last week with only 25 yards and has yet to find the endzone, so for now, he is a definite add with some upside as a bench stash. The only player worth starting for the Titans is a reliable tight end, Delanie Walker. Walker has a safe floor for the TE position, scoring 7 last week, but a great ceiling, scoring 22 PPR points in Week 1. The Jags have a solid group of linebackers, but Walker is the safety net for Mariota and should continue to see targets there. He is the safest bet to fall into the endzone for the Titans this week from this group of pass-catchers.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Quarterback:

  • Gardner Minshew(Sit)

In all honesty, Gardner Minshew didn’t look that great last week against the Texans for much of the game. However, he did come alive towards the end of the game and almost led the Jags back to an improbable win. Being as this is a 12 team league suggestion thread, I do not suggest you deploy him as a top 12 option this week against the Titans, only giving up 182 passing yards per game. Minshew is a great story, doing his pregame stretches in nothing but a jockstrap, but he is not someone to rely on in this spot.

Running Back:

  • Leonard Fournette(Start/RB2)

While the Titans pass defense has been stellar, the rushing defense has been at the bottom of the league, 26th to be exact. This will lead to some hope for Leonard Fournette, who has also gotten involved more in the passing game but could also lead to some stacked boxes with the rookie under center. Look for Fournette to put up some solid rushing numbers in this one, but not to go over 100 yards. You aren’t sitting him at this point and he offers a solid enough floor to be an every-week RB2 with upside, especially against the Titans.

Wide Receivers:

  • Dede Westbrook(Sit)
  • DJ Chark(Start/Flex)
  • Chris Conley(Desperation Flex)

Dede Westbrook came into the season as someone that many were hoping could be a WR2 with Nick Foles at the helm. Well, things change quickly and many are thinking of dropping Westbrook after a terrible 6/33/1 to start the year. While I wouldn’t go that far yet, he is a definite sit in this matchup with a good defense against the pass. DJ Chark has quickly become the favorite target of Minshew, going 11/201/2 to begin the year. While this is a tough matchup, Chark is someone you can trust as he will be getting the volume to make for a safe floor, even if it isn’t his usual 5/100/1 that he is averaging this year. Dubbed as my sleeper, Chris Conley gives another safe floor as a desperation flex as he does not have the touchdown upside that Chark does thus far, but does have nearly 200 yards himself.

  1. B says:

So I have Vance on my bench with Marc Andrews starting.

My Flex options are Mike Wiliams (currently sitting in Flex spot), James White and Vance – Josh Jacobs says he’s sick and has lost 10lbs, plus the hip injury and going against MIN.

Should I start Vance over Williams/White?

  2. Marvin says:

Considering Joe Mixon’s slow start do you think John Brown or Kerryon Johnson would be better at the flex spot?

  3. Ian Howard says:

Massively struggling between Hilton and Golladay for my Flex. 0.25 PPR. Many experts are leaning towards Hilton, but I think Golladay has the better game. Thoughts?

  4. brian says:

your thoughts on shady or gore for my flex spot? i have saquon and kerryon for RB1/2. rest of my bench consists of aj green, kenny stills, chris thopson and ito smith. yes, i am in trouble.

  5. Kris says:

Who should I flex? Kerryon, Scary Terry, or John Ross?

  6. Mike says:

I should keep Lockett in over Fitz, right? He has a more favorable defensive matchup by far, and more upside, although I’m sure Fitz will get fed.

  7. PoopySox says:

Metcalf is currently an available free agent in my 8-team league. Would you drop Mike Williams in favor of Metcalf? I currently have Lockett on my roster and on the bench in favor of Marquise Brown in the flex, and John Brown starting. Fitz is also on the bench. Hopkins and OBJ are my other starters.

  8. Graham says:

No touchdown for Matt Breida last week unfortunately, otherwise great write-ups!

  9. Bryce says:

I currently have D.J. Chark, D.J. Moore, Adam Thielen, John Brown, and Mecole Hardman on my team. I am thinking about starting John Brown as my WR1, D.J. Chark as my WR2, and Mecole Hardman as my flex. So far I have not been impressed by Thielen this year, and with Cam most likely out I am afraid to start Moore. What do you recommend?

  10. Anthony says:

sorry if I’m posting this in the wrong thread, but I have a dilemma. No clue on who to start. I can start 6

    PPR
Bell, Thielen, OBJ, Ridley, Montgomery, Keryon, Hollywood, DJ Chark

I’m leaning on benching dj and thielen. Opinions?

  11. Brad R says:

Rather than asking specific players, what positional ranking is highest in a 1 point PPR league

    RB Flex, WR3, or TE1?
