I led with Wan’Dale Robinson for Week 10, and he produced a mixed bag. The targets were there (11), but he only caught six passes for 62 scoreless yards. My process was right, but Robinson himself didn’t really hold his end of the bargain.
Let’s dive into Week 11.
A reminder that I judge my “start” or “sit” against a full-PPR format.
Start ‘Em
D.K. Metcalf, WR – Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 11 Matchup: vs Cincinnati Bengals
It’s been a disastrous two weeks for D.K. Metcalf, as he’s posted 9.1 total PPR between Weeks 9 and 10. But better dates are surely ahead, right? Week 11 is the perfect get-right spot for the Steelers’ WR1, as he’s set to face a Bengals defense that is allowing a collective 31.9 fantasy points per game to opposing WRs. It’s worth noting that back in Week 7, Metcalf was held to just 8 PPR points against Cincy, catching three of five targets for 50 scoreless yards. I’m still firing him up as Aaron Rodgers‘ most useful pass-catching weapon, and you should do the same.
Christian Watson, WR – Green Bay Packers
Week 11 Matchup: @ New York Giants
It’s anyone’s guess which Christian Watson shows up for the Packers on Sunday. In years past, he’s been a fantasy WR who’s good for an explosive game or two, but can also lay a complete dud. There’s really no in between. For Week 11, I’m willing to chase the upside against a Giants defense that has allowed the seventh-most PPG to WRs on the season, per FantasyData. It also helps that rookie Matthew Golden is nursing a shoulder injury, and Dontayvion Wicks has a calf injury of his own. Romeo Doubs left MNF last week with a chest injury, but is expected to play this week. Either way, I would expect Watson to be the preferred target for Jordan Love against a Giants team that just fired their HC in Brian Daboll.
Marcus Mariota, QB – Washington Commanders
Week 11 Matchup: @ Miami Dolphins (9:30 AM EST, Madrid)
Unexpectedly, Marcus Mariota has been a serviceable fantasy QB this season whenever Jayden Daniels has missed time. In three of four starts on the year, he’s scored at least 20.2 ppg, and gets a solid matchup in Spain against a Miami defense allowing the eighth most fantasy points to opposing QBs this season. Look for Mariota to keep rolling for what he is, and it is worth noting the Bills just allowed Josh Allen – despite Buffalo taking the loss – to throw for 306 yards and two touchdowns (and one interception).
Sit ‘Em
Tetairoa McMillan, WR – Carolina Panthers
Week 11 Matchup: @ Atlanta Falcons
It’s been a murky rookie/fantasy season for Tetairoa McMillan. He’s got two TDs on the year, and they both came in the same game versus Dallas back in Week 6. He enters Week 11 with 618 yards and 46 receptions (on 77 targets), but he may be in for a tough day against a Falcons defense that held him to three catches for 48 scoreless yards at home in Week 3. The Atlanta secondary has been stingy to top WRs this year, including names like Mike Evans and Justin Jefferson, which makes Tet a pretty easy sit decision this week.
Bo Nix, QB – Denver Broncos
Week 11 Matchup: vs Kansas City Chiefs
Bo Nix and the Broncos are coming off an absolute stinkfest that was Week 10’s narrow 10-7 victory against the Raiders on Thursday Night Football. Nix completed 16 of 28 attempts for 150 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. It was a game to forget for Nix, and I would be hard-pressed to stream Nix versus a Chiefs defense allowing an average of 17.1 fantasy ppg to opposing QBs this season, per FantasyData.
T.J. Hockenson, TE – Minnesota Vikings
Week 11 Matchup: vs Chicago Bears
You would think T.J. Hockenson would be a safety valve for J.J. McCarthy, but he has not been much of a factor at all in the pass game in four games with JJM under center. In that span, Hock has four targets or fewer in each game and has been held to 15 yards or less. He’s got two TDs on the season, and you should be making plans to have another TE in your lineup this week. Back in Week 1 at Chicago (McCarthy was in at QB), Hockenson caught three of his four targets for 15 scoreless yards.
