Start ‘Em and Sit ‘Em – Week 6

Three players to start and sit in your Week 6 matchups!

I designated myself as a Sit last week, as I was under the weather. But I’m feeling great and ready now to share who I foresee in your Week 6 lineups, and who can be left on the bench. Let’s get to it.

A reminder that I judge my ‘start or sit’ against a full-PPR format.

Start ‘Em

Tetairoa McMillan, WR – Carolina Panthers

Week 6 Matchup: vs Dallas Cowboys

We’re waiting on the true Tetairoa McMillan breakout game, and what better week to do it than vs a porous Dallas defense? The Cowboys are the league-worst against the position, allowing an average of 47.1 collective points to opposing WRs this season per FantasyData.

McMillan has led the way in Carolina (as expected, being the 8th overall pick in this year’s draft), catching 24 of 43 targets for 351 yards, but he’s yet to find the end zone. Something has to give, right? This week against Dallas feels like the spot where he will hit pay dirt for the first time.

Evan Engram, TE – Denver Broncos

Week 6 Matchup: @ New York Jets (London)

Evan Engram found the end zone for the first time as a Bronco last week, pulling in four of six targets for 33 yards and the score against Philly. It hasn’t been the productive season that we may have expected of him compared to his short time in Jacksonville, but the matchup this week in London on Sunday morning should be very enticing. The Jets have allowed five touchdowns to opposing tight ends – a league high – and most recently allowed Dallas’ Jake Ferguson to catch seven of his nine targets for 49 yards and two touchdowns.

Stefon Diggs, WR – New England Patriots

Week 6 Matchup: @ New Orleans Saints

Stefon Diggs surely got his revenge against the Bills in New England’s upset win on Sunday night. He caught 10 of 12 targets for 146 yards, making it his second 100+ receiving yard output in a row. Look for him to continue to roll as a primary target for Drake Maye, even though the Saints are allowing a collective 29 PPR points per game to opposing WRs. Diggs is returning to form following last year’s ACL injury and looks to be the preferred target for the ascending Maye.

Sit ‘Em

Justin Fields, QB – New York Jets

Week 6 Matchup: vs Denver Broncos (London)

Justin Fields may be a garbage-time king, but I am not in favor of banking on that late production this week against Denver. The Broncos’ defense is stout, allowing just 14.6 points per game to opposing fantasy QBs on the season per FantasyData. The key number to back this claim is the fact that the Broncos have allowed a league-low 15 rushing yards to quarterbacks this season. With only two QBs on BYE this week (C.J. Stroud and Carson Wentz), you surely can find a better option at the position.

Isiah Pacheco, RB – Kansas City Chiefs

Week 6 Matchup: vs Detroit Lions (SNF)

Isiah Pacheco, for as hard as he runs, seems to be on this ‘JAG’ trajectory. He may have out-snapped Kareem Hunt Monday night, 40-21, but it was Hunt who found the end zone twice. Pacheco simply is not getting the goal line looks and isn’t producing with his touches, averaging just eight carries a game over the last three weeks. The matchup this week on Sunday night against the Lions isn’t very favorable either, making Pacheco a sit. Detroit just held Chase Brown and Samaje Perine to 54 total scoreless yards on 12 total carries.

Jameson Williams, WR – Detroit Lions

Week 6 Matchup: @ Kansas City Chiefs (SNF)

In the same game as above, Jameson Williams has been an uber disappointment this fantasy season. With the exception of Week 2, Williams has zero double-digit output games on the season, and has only seen 5+ targets twice (Week 1 and Week 4). In a juicy matchup last week against the Bengals, Williams caught his lone target for 9 yards, and now he’s set to face a tougher Chiefs defense.
