We came out of what was a rough-looking Week 9 for quarterbacks with a mixed bag of results – veterans Cam Newton (24.56 fantasy points on Yahoo!) and Kirk Cousins (20.80 fantasy points), capable of producing on any given Sunday, gave us a couple of big hits; however, a more lauded option, Derek Carr (14.00 fantasy points) fell flat as the Raiders leaned on their rushing attack to overcome the beleaguered Chargers.
The most disappointing production was from the guy we stuck our neck out for somewhat – Daniel Jones (12.88 fantasy points) had a good first half, throwing a dime to Evan Engram for a touchdown as the Giants led 20-3 at halftime. After the break, Jason Garrett called a ridiculously conservative game and the Giants punted on 3 of their 4 possessions. It killed Jones’ fantasy day.

Who surprised us? Teddy Bridgewater (28.30 fantasy points) narrowly missed out on making our list last week and the beauty of hindsight gave us a big “what were you thinking!” as Teddy, buoyed by the return of Christian McCaffrey, went toe-to-toe with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in a humdinger game that the Panthers just fell short in, losing 33-31. More to come.
Now, let’s look at the lay of the land for Week 10.
Quarterbacks on their bye weeks are Patrick Mahomes, Matt Ryan, Sam Darnold/Joe Flacco, and Garrett Gilbert.
Jacksonville looks to be continuing with rookie Jake Luton, so Gardner Minshew is not an option. Kyle Allen‘s horrible ankle injury means Alex Smith is once again under center for Washington, and Nick Mullens is expected to continue as the 49ers signal-caller.
Remember, the caveat is that our recommended players for streaming are less than 70% owned in Yahoo! leagues. This week’s options come in the form of a small, intimate gathering.

“Teddy 3 Gloves?”
Teddy Bridgewater, Panthers vs. Buccaneers
It was a joy to watch Teddy Bridgewater play to his and his team’s strengths on Sunday – the return of star running back Christian McCaffrey gave “Teddy 2 Gloves” an extra glove that fit perfectly. This team is very well coached, and Matt Rhule and Joe Brady drew up the perfect gameplan to feed McCaffrey with screens and pepper shallow crosses to Robby Anderson (13 targets) and Curtis Samuel (9 targets). It worked for much of the game, forcing Patrick Mahomes to shift up a few gears in the 2nd half. Bridgewater had a season-high 49 passing attempts, completing 36 of them for 300+ yards and 2 TDs. He also added another rushing touchdown to his slate for the season.

“Tu…ah, we love it!”
Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins vs. Chargers
After a baptism of fire in his first start against a stout Rams defense, Tua Tagovailoa introduced himself to the NFL in style on Sunday. He delivered through the air with 2 passing touchdowns and added seven carries for 35 yards, including a game-clinching QB sneak on 3rd-and-short with a minute left in the game. Poised in the pocket, phenomenal on the move, and using the smarts to move the sticks at crucial times showed the world that Tua is ready to be an elite starting quarterback. Next up is the Chargers defense, fresh off another heartbreaking loss, that is tied for the 3rd-most Fantasy Points Per Game allowed to quarterbacks this season (23.2 fantasy points). I am looking forward to seeing more crafty drives ending in beautiful throws in the redzone like this ripper to Mack Hollins.

“The Boring Man Option”
Jared Goff, Rams vs. Seahawks
As anyone who watched Hard Knocks before the season will know, Jared Goff is a little thin on the personality side. You could say that has transformed onto the field this year with a series of vanilla performances in this uninspiring yet effective Sean McVay offense. He has only eclipsed 20+ fantasy points in 3 of 8 starts this season. However, the volume is there for future production, especially up against a miserable Seahawks secondary in Week 10.
The Rams were on a bye last week after falling to Tua and the Dolphins on Week 8. Goff had 61 attempts in that contest, completing 35 passes (his best this year by 10) for 300+ yards, a TD, and 2 INT. This has “shootout” written all over it so expect Goff to air it out once more. Cut out the turnovers and Goff could give you the 20+ fantasy points you need this week. Personal note for my own fantasy outlook, Jared…Feed Bobby Trees Please!

Lock @ LV or Rivers @Tennessee?
Urgh…not too much to be hopeful for in those two matchups. If any of the above are not available then I would go with Lock against the Raiders.
Lock has put up back-to-back 20+ fantasy point games and had a season-high in attempts at the weekend. The Raiders love to ship points so he has the better upside with Lindsay back also.
