Streaming QBs: Week 10

QB List provides you with the best fantasy options at the quarterback position to stream in Week 10 of 2022.

Every week we will bring you our advice on which signal-callers have the potential to help your fantasy teams win. We will look at the previous weeks’ performances, the quarterbacks’ supporting cast, the matchup, and smart statistical insights to offer you the clearest picture of which QB to pick up from your waiver wire.

What a week it was for second-year phenom Justin Fields (42.72 fantasy points in Yahoo! leagues), who ascended to the top quarterback tier with an outstanding overall performance against the Dolphins. Fields was precise and efficient through the air and devastatingly exciting to watch on the ground, rushing for 178 yards on 15 carries including a sensational 61-yard score. He is still remarkably only 69% rostered, so now is your time to upgrade at quarterback. He won’t be available to stream after this week.

Trevor Lawrence (16.70 fantasy points) nudged back to respectability with an adequate fantasy output in the Jaguars’ 27-20 win over the Raiders. The up-and-down former Clemson starlet completed 81% of his passes including a touchdown pass to favorite target Christian Kirk. He also broke off a big 41-yard run to finish up with a healthy 66 yards rushing to bulk up his score. Fantasy managers would have been pleased with this result on a tough bye week.

Oh, Marcus Mariota (7.54 fantasy points), why do you do this to us? After a big 20+ fantasy score in Week 8, the Falcons quarterback had a plus matchup against the Chargers but could not cash in. Mariota took a backseat to the returning Cordarelle Patterson in the run game and completed just 12 passes through the air as his team wasted the chance to beat a poor Chargers outfit. What made matters worse was Mariota should have connected with Kyle Pitts for a 70 yard touchdown that would have turned the tide in real life and fantasy football. It was a disappointing return.

Week 9 Performance

Now, let’s look at the lay of the land for Week 10. Remember, the caveat is that our recommended players for streaming are less than 70% rostered in Yahoo! leagues.

The following teams are on bye this week – Baltimore Ravens (Lamar Jackson), Cincinnati Bengals (Joe Burrow), New England Patriots (Mac Jones), New York Jets (Zach Wilson).

“Just-in Time”

Justin Fields, Bears vs. Lions

The emergence of Justin Fields as a superstar quarterback is happening before our eyes – in Week 9 he broke the NFL rushing  record by a quarterback (previously held by Michael Vick) with 178 rushing yards. The former Ohio State star also threw for three passing touchdowns and single-handedly kept his team in the contest. Fields has now averaged 30.7 fantasy points per game over the past three contests, and his 9:1 TD:INT ration is impressive.

Fields gets the moribund Lions defense in Week 10, and despite overcoming Aaron Rodgers last week (who put on a horror show), as a unit they are giving up the third-most fantasy points to the position so far in 2022. Fields’ dual-threat prowess is ready to strike.

“Pass Me The Bottle, Mr. Jones”

Daniel Jones, Giants vs. Texans

After a disappointing loss to the Seahawks prior to their bye week, you can be sure that Brian Daboll has been hard at work to implement the changes Daniel Jones needs to kick on as a wining quarterback after a highly encouraging start to the season. Jones comes out of the bye as a top-10 fantasy scorer at the position, averaging 16.3 points per game. His ability to move the chains with his legs has become an essential part of the Giants’ success. He’ll be hoping to put that on show against a hapless Texans defense, who have struggled to stop teams on the ground this season.

“Once More Into The Breach”

Marcus Mariota, Falcons vs. Panthers

Ah, what can we say, we are giving him one last chance due to this matchup. Marcus Mariota sits as the fantasy QB12 on the season going into Week 10 and he has done it thanks to a steady mix of rushing touchdowns and being efficient through the air. A matchup against a non-competitive Panthers defense should offer the chance for fantasy redemption. Mariota had six passing scores before last week so he is worth another shot in Week 10.
