Streaming QBs: Week 12

QB List provides you with the best fantasy options at the quarterback position to stream in Week 12 of 2022.

Every week we will bring you our advice on which signal-callers have the potential to help your fantasy teams win. We will look at the previous weeks’ performances, the quarterbacks’ supporting cast, the matchup, and smart statistical insights to offer you the clearest picture of which QB to pick up from your waiver wire.

Another productive week for our recommended streamers at quarterback as all three hit 15+ fantasy points in Yahoo! leagues. Our primary option, Matthew Stafford (15.76 fantasy points) was unlucky not to go off for more after being removed from the Rams defeat to the Saints shortly after half time after entering the concussion protocol for the second straight week. Stafford connected with Allen Robinson and Tutu Atwell for first half scores in what looked to be an entertaining shootout until the injury.

Daniel Jones (26.64 fantasy points) couldn’t overcome the Lions despite a productive all around performance in the Giants close defeat. Jones recovered from throwing two interceptions (his first set of turnovers passing since Week 3) to bring the G-Men back into the contest in the second half by throwing to Richie James for a score and rushing seven times for 50 yards and a touchdown. It was good enough to earn Jones the fantasy QB2 performance of the week. Nice.

Marcus Mariota did not let us down either – his handy 17.74 fantasy points continuing a good run as a quiet assassin in fantasy streaming. Mariota was once again a top-15 scorer at the position as he threw for a score and ran for one too. He is a steady, reliable option if you are ever in need of a placeholder.

Week 11 Performance

Now, let’s look at the lay of the land for Week 12. Remember, the caveat is that our recommended players for streaming are less than 70% rostered in Yahoo! leagues. No teams are on bye in Week 12. We are assuming Matthew Stafford is out with concussion.

QB Streamers

“On The Line”

Derek Carr, Raiders at Seahawks

There is no doubt about it, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is playing for his team’s season and his own career right now. The overtime win over the Broncos was a lifeline, with everyone breathing a sigh of relief. Carr fed Davante Adams and needs to over and over for him to be a fantasy asset. He has three straight 20+ fantasy games, throwing for two scores and no turnovers in each of those games.

Carr gets a Seahawks defense in Seattle that is prone to a shootout. With both these teams needing a win in their division, the ceiling is high for Carr in Week 12.

“Will The Real No.1 QB Please Stand Up”

Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars vs. Ravens

The development of Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville has finally progressed under Doug Pederson, with the former number one overall pick looking like the goods promised this season. Lawrence has built a productive relationship with wideout Christian Kirk and is starting to reduce the mistakes and make throws that make you go wow every week.

Lawrence comes off the bye week to face a Ravens defense that is giving up the 11th most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Lawrence will look to emulate the 259 yards and two touchdowns he threw against the Chiefs prior to the break.

“Mr. GQ Is Back”

Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers vs. Saints

It’s hard to ignore the obvious floors of Jimmy Garoppolo after a starring four-touchdown performance in Mexico City against the undermanned Cardinals. Jimmy G looks like a sexy option once again by dumping the ball off to playmakers who build up the yards for him. He’s also been impressively accurate in the red zone, something that has come and gone over his career.

We hope this version of Jimmy G continues for one more week against a Saints defense that has struggled mightily over the season, especially in the secondary. Mr GQ has 12 touchdowns in his last six contests, long may that record continue.
