Every week we will bring you our advice on which signal-callers have the potential to help your fantasy teams win. We will look at the previous weeks’ performances, the quarterbacks’ supporting cast, the matchup, and smart statistical insights to offer you the clearest picture of which QB to pick up from your waiver wire.
Remember, we will only consider QBs who are less than 70% rostered in Yahoo! leagues to give you an honest chance at picking one up for your team’s matchup.
Week 12 was a beauty for our primary streaming option, Jordan Love (26.63 fantasy points) who finished as the fantasy QB5 on the week and by far the best score for a player under 70% rostered. Love was outstanding in the Packers’ shock win in Detroit on Thanksgiving, throwing for three touchdowns in a dominant passing display. Love connected with Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and tight end Tucker Kraft to show his improving play on the national stage. He goes into this week still just 62% rostered and heads out streamers once again for Week 13, where he faces the Chiefs in a potential shootout.
Our backup options faired less well with Derek Carr (11.86 fantasy points) and Baker Mayfield (14.36 fantasy points) both struggling with their play against strong defensive performances. We should have sticked with Matthew Stafford (24.36 fantasy points) as the main backup option.
QB | Matchup | % Rostered (Yahoo!) | Fantasy Points |
---|---|---|---|
Jordan Love, Packers | GB at DET | 51% | 26.62 |
Derek Carr, Saints | NO at ATL | 42% | 11.86 |
Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers | TB at IND | 51% | 14.36 |
Going into Week 13, a crippling 6 teams are on bye! They include some fantasy darlings. Quarterbacks missing are Josh Allen (Bills), Lamar Jackson (Ravens), Joshua Dobbs (Vikings), Justin Fields (Bears), Aidan O’Connell (Raiders), and Tommy DeVito (Giants).
With that knowledge in mind, let’s look at our recommendations for streaming.
QB | Matchup | % Rostered (Yahoo!) | Projected Fantasy Points |
---|---|---|---|
Jordan Love, Packers | GB vs. KC | 62% | 13.18 |
Matthew Stafford, Rams | LAR vs. CLE | 53% | 14.02 |
Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers | TB at IND | 51% | 15.89 |
“Love, Love, Love!”
Jordan Love, Packers vs. Chiefs
Three loves for three scores against the Lions last week, Jordan Love will look to cause another upset against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs at home with any chance of playoff football for Green Bay on the line. Love must show the poise and clinical finish he showed last week to put in another 20+ fantasy performance. But with his receivers developing nicely and his confidence high, we are fully bought in.

“Gunslinger”
Matthew Stafford, Rams vs. Browns
Yep, we are not forgetting about the veteran this week after his brilliant performance in Week 12. Stafford gets a tough Browns defense but they are reeling from a slate of injuries, and Myles Garrett will likely to miss the game. Stafford only combined with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua for 45 yards last week and that won’t happen again. More importantly, the emergence of Kyren Williams in the backfield as a receiving option could bump Stafford’s fantasy score as that dude is a playmaker.

“Hear Me Out!”
Kenny Pickett, Steelers vs. Cardinals
Yes, you are going to have to be open-minded for this one. But, I believe in Kenny Pickett and after the Steelers fired Matt Canada the offense immediately responded with over 400 yards for the first time all season. Pickett can throw the football as the highlight below shows. He has shown confidence in the new scheme and hasn’t turned the ball over since Week 5. The unfortunate aspect to that is he only has two passing scores in that period too. But he’s due and the Cardinals defense is ripe for the picking.
Pickett to Pickens for a huge gain! #HereWeGo
