Every week we will bring you our advice on which signal-callers have the potential to help your fantasy teams win. We will look at the previous weeks’ performances, the quarterbacks’ supporting cast, the matchup, and smart statistical insights to offer you the clearest picture of which QB to pick up from your waiver wire.
Remember, we will only consider QBs who are less than 70% rostered in Yahoo! leagues to give you an honest chance at picking one up for your team’s matchup.
Week 15 was a case of a thorn between two roses as our recommended primary streamer Nick Mullens (19.12 fantasy points) and third option Jake Browning (19.96 fantasy points) put on a show in an exciting Saturday showdown with the Bengals beating the Vikings in overtime in a thriller. Nice job lads!
The thorn was Desmond Ridder (8.88 fantasy points), whose regression is for real and put up a steaming hot pile of crap in an embarrassing loss to the Panthers. Ridder threw one of te worst interceptions you will ever see in this game in the red zone.
QB | Matchup | % Rostered (Yahoo!) | Fantasy Points |
---|---|---|---|
Nick Mullens, Vikings | MIN at CIN | 4% | 19.12 |
Desmond Ridder, Falcons | DEN at LAC | 12% | 8.88 |
Jake Browning, Bengals | CIN vs. MIN | 47% | 19.96 |
The semi-finals of your fantasy leagues are upon us. With that knowledge in mind, let’s look at our recommendations for streaming.
QB | Matchup | % Rostered (Yahoo!) | Projected Fantasy Points |
---|---|---|---|
Joe Flacco, Browns | CLE at HOU | 32% | 13.85 |
Gardner Minshew, Colts | IND at ATL | 29% | 15.65 |
“Good Guy Joe”
Joe Flacco, Browns at Texans
There is only one real option this week if you are serious about competing with a streaming quarterback in your fantasy semi-final – veteran gunslinger Joe Flacco, who comes off the back of three multiple-touchdown games in which he has failed to put up less than 17.16 fantasy points in. Flacco gets a Texans defense that has taken a step back in recent weeks and with the two teams battling for their division titles, this will likely be a no-holds barred shootout.

“Minshew Playoff Mania”
Gardner Minshew, Colts at Falcons
It is worth noting that veteran Flacco is nursing a calf injury so we have to provide you with a viable backup option. Gardner Minshew hasn’t been lights out when we have turned to him this year but facing a reeling Falcons defensive unit and coming off the back of four straight strong fantasy showings, we feel confident enough to plug him in as a streaming option. The health of top wideout Michael Pittman should be monitored after he left with a concussion last week.
