Streaming Tight Ends
We had a handful of performances this week that paid out well. The boys on Monday Night held up the top with a second and third finish for Cade Otton and Travis Kelce. Brock Bowers and Trey McBride found the end zone this week and wrapped up the list of big-name players from the position that performed well. Jake Ferguson finished with 71 yards on his 10 targets. Dak and CeeDee could be out for multiple weeks to see Ferguson thrive in Lamb’s absence. We also saw some second- and third-stringers score, which ruined our day. We saw Josh Oliver and Theo Johnson in the top ten. Then Nick Vannett, Quinton Morris, and Chris Manhertz steal a touchdown. Who!? What are you doing to me, fantasy Gods??
We have four teams on bye, so we won’t have big names like Bowers, Kraft, and Njoku that can’t be used. The studs should continue in Kelce, Kittle, and McBride. The next tier down will be the high-target guys; they all have injured wide receivers on their team that are shedding targets to the TEs. Evan Engram, Jake Ferguson, and Cade Otton fill this role. They can all climb to the top this week on targets alone. Mark Andrews and Kyle Pitts should be able to bounce back after their quiet Week 9. TJ Hockenson was limited on snaps in his first outing of the season. It’s a great matchup against Jacksonville this week, so I’m giving the nod to get him in your lineup.
And now, here are a handful of streaming options for you all to consider this week:
Taysom Hill
Yeah, I know. Surprise, Brian is talking Taysom again.
We get to the point of the season where the emerging tight ends have been picked up. And you, the great researcher, have read this each week and are cruising. As a pivot, I love returning to the well with Taysom Hill. This New Orleans team is struggling! Rashid Shaheed is on IR, and Chris Olave will miss some time after the second concussion of the season. Alvin Kamara is going to be the offense, but being able to play a guy who takes snaps from all over the field. Few other players give you potential at the upside that sits with this player.
Mike Gesicki
No Tee Higgins, lets go again.
Mike Gesicki has a chance to be a big waiver pickup after his big two-touchdown performance. We’re chasing a bit, but the recipe seems to be Tee Higgins sitting out, and that trend seems to continue this week. You’ll need to watch practice reports this week, but Gesicki is a great pivot option based on involvement in the offense alone. In a divisional matchup in Baltimore, this game stands a good chance of giving us many points. Both of these defenses give up points, especially through the air. The Ravens are the 8th best matchup for the position, giving up over 10 points a game, and Gesicki has the talent to break for a big play, which this offense needs, as they lost their new rookie tight end, Erick All, to an ACL, leaving that much more for Mike.
Ja’Tavion Sanders
Looking for some points, nothing Giant
And for your super deep league, here is where we’re at. The fourth-round pick, Ja’Tavion Sanders, has come along in the last few weeks. The Rookie has seen at least 5 targets in 4 of the previous 5 games and over 10 yards per target in 2. The Panthers also traded last year’s second-round pick, Jonathan Mingo, to the Cowboys for a 4th round pick at the deadline. He’s the second wide receiver traded the previous week, as Diontae Johnson went to the Ravens last week. As a deep play, managed expectations are essential, but with limited pass catchers and an increased role in the offense, they play the Giants, who can get after the quarterback, leaving Sanders as a good dump-off option. I’m interested in playing him in a pinch this week.
