Streaming Tight Ends
As we sat on the couch Sunday morning, dirty fingertips from whatever snack was being enjoyed. You look at the halftime scores from the first round of games, and there isn’t a single team with more than 17 points. That’s when it set in; it’ll be a low weekend. Ja’Tavion Sanders was our top pick from last week after finding the end zone and finishing in the top 12. Tanner Hudson stole the touchdown from Mike Gesicki on Thursday and left him with a pedestrian day. At the top of the list for the week, we had regular names, such as Travis Kelce, Mark Andrews, and Sam LaPorta. The best sighting was TJ Hockenson returning to form. He tied Jefferson for the team lead in targets and caught 8. Trey McBride continues his streak without a receiving touchdown.
This week, we are looking for options for Cade Otton and Trey McBride, who both have bye weeks. Or maybe the matchup with your starter is pushing you to a stream. David Njoku is coming off a bye week and should still be considered a top 6 option this week. Jonnu Smith is in an intriguing situation this week. The Raiders are at the top of the list regarding solid matchups for the tightened based on fantasy points over expectation, and he continued to be involved in the offense. We need to monitor Dalton Kincaid this week at practice. If he cannot go, Dawson Knox has a good matchup against the Chiefs, and rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman has already been announced as Out for the week. I like Hunter Henry as a solid streaming play as well this week. He draws a favorable matchup with the Rams and continues working well with the rookie signal caller, Drake Maye.
And now, here are a handful of my favorite streaming options for you all to consider this week:
Cole Kmet
Have your baseball bat ready for the TD celebration.
Coming into the season, Cole Kmet was a fade for me. There were so many variables in an offense that brought in several new pass catchers and a tight end that followed the new OC as he came to town. So far, that’s been the case. Cole Kmet has had two spike weeks, and the offense has been atrocious lately. After an em-Bear-assing showing against the Patriots, the Bears have fired their OC, Shane Waldren. In schedule-adjusted rankings, the Bears get the Packers, who are 27th against the position. I have high hopes for this offense this week with a new play-caller. Kmet hasn’t found the end zone in a bit, so I know he has the itch.
Will Dissly
Let’s put a Charge in your lineup.
This offense has been transforming in front of our eyes. As JK Dobbins has come down to Earth a bit in his running efficiency, the passing game has taken significant strides since the Chargers bye week. In that time, Justin Herbert had thrown over 230 yards in all but one game, and Will Dissly had averaged over 6 targets per game. We have the usage, and now we will pair that with a game with the Bengals, who have allowed the third most points to the position. The Bengals should force the Chargers to score more points in this game, giving Will Dissly his touchdown upside.
AJ Barner
Looking for some points, nothing Giant.
In case you were wondering, he’s a rookie for the Seahawks. We’re digging deep on this one, but we succeeded with Sanders last week, so let’s keep looking. Before the bye week, AJ Barner took over as the starter as Noah Fant missed with an injury. The month before the injured game, Fant averaged over 4 targets per game. And on Barner’s fill-in game, she saw 7 targets and brought in 4. We’ll need to monitor the injury reports because Fant is supposed to avoid IR, but it should have. He’s out at least one more game, which gives AJ Barner stream-ability.
