Streaming Tight Ends
It took 11 weeks, but it finally happened. The Taysom Hill explosion game hit fantasy this week and left a path of his destruction. The guy took snaps at every position except the offensive line on Sunday. Jonnu Smith continues his run over the last month and seems to be the top target option behind Hill and Achane, leaving Waddle owners scarred. Brock Bowers has had a fantastic start to what should be a remarkable career. He had the second most targets for a rookie tight end in NFL history. Noah Gray ruined the day for Travis Kelce‘s owners when he scored two touchdowns on his 4 catches. Engram, Andrews, Hockenson, and Pitts round out the disappointments of the week.
This week, we are down six teams due to the bye week and lose out on Taysom Hill, Kyle Pitts, Evan Engram, and Dalton Kincaid. Despite losing out to Noah Gray, Travis Kelce should see a big rebound in a game with the Panthers. George Kittle missed last week from a hamstring injury and is leaving this week as questionable. Sam LaPorta has upset owners, but if healthy, he sees a matchup with a team that struggles with the tight end. Words can’t describe the pit in your stomach when you see Tucker Kraft‘s box score, but I’m willing to lean back his way in a favorable matchup with the 49ers.
And now, here are a handful of my favorite streaming options for you all to consider this week:
Hunter Henry
Are we Hunting for a win? We just Maye!
Look no further if your starter is on bye or you’re just looking for the weekly streamer. It’s hard to find a number one pass catcher for a team floating on waivers, but Hunter Henry seems to be. Over the last 5 weeks, Henry has averaged over 7 targets, resulting in over 45 yards in games, but one leaving you with a solid floor and an opportunity for a score. The Patriots draw the Dolphins this week, and since Miami’s bye, they are allowing the fourth most points to the tight end position. With a 46-point over-under in this game, there is plenty of room for scoring opportunities.
Will Dissly
Let’s put a Charge in your lineup again!
We went after Will Dissly last week, and he paid off, I want to go back to the well this week in a Monday Night rematch between the Harbaugh brothers. This game should have plenty of hype leading to that night, but the most important news will be Ladd McConkey and his shoulder. He went into the tent on Sunday but returned to finish the game after. Even if he plays, I still like Dissly in this game, where the Ravens have allowed plenty of passing yards this season. In points per game, the Ravens enable tight ends to score at a top 8 rate this year. The Chargers continue their passing prowess, as Justin Herbert has thrown under 235 yards once since Week 4. Dissly offers both floor and ceiling this week.
Ja’Tavion Sanders
Sanders on the Prowl
The rookie Ja’Tavion Sanders scored a touchdown when I played him internationally, and the hope is we can find success again. Now, to start, this is a rough game for the Panthers. Despite the matchup being a positive one for the tight end, for Sanders to be successful, the offense will need to find some life to move the ball. We saw better play from the team and Bryce Young before their bye. Everyone can flash in this league, but can they put it together playing the three-time defending champs? Since Week 5, Sanders has seen a snap increase and has had targets of 5 or more in 4 of those games. The Chiefs lock down the running game, so this deep play is based on the idea that the Panthers are forced to move the ball in the air, and the tight end is the best chance of beating the Chiefs this season.
