Streaming Tight Ends
Whether you were stuffing your face last week or stuffing your lineup with endless options, the fun stops here. We are looking at another bye-mageddon. Jonnu Smith left little room for turkey when he pulled in 10 of 11 targets on Thanksgiving. Black Friday gave us the explosion performance from the rookie sensation Brock Bowers. Trey McBride has the craziest streak without a receiving touchdown this season, as we saw him bring in 12 receptions on Sunday’s tragic loss for the Cardinals. Did we doubt Mark Andrews this season? He high-pointed a ball in the endzone this weekend, reminding us of his full capabilities. Kyle Pitts continues to disappoint and finds himself moving to waivers as a streamer.
George Kittle had his first dud of the year…in the blizzard. We’re moving past it and firing him up this week after the 49ers lost another weapon in CMC. Travis Kelce has seen 4 touchdowns go to his backup over the last two weeks, but I like him to have a good week here. David Njoku is coming off a 17-target game. The Steelers are running hot, so I expect to see Jameis tossing it again, leaving Njoku in line for a ton of work on the easiest remaining tight-end schedule. TJ Hockenson has seen good target shares in most of his games this season, but his route share has only been about 80% once this year when he averaged over 80% last season.
And now, here are a handful of my favorite streaming options for you all to consider this week:
Juwan Johnson
You’re Juwan for me!
Tragedy continues to hit the Saints, with Taysom Hill tearing his ACL Sunday. The number of weapons lost by the Saints is stacking up, and Juwan Johnson is one of the few left standing. We’ve seen a connection between Derek Carr, his tight ends, and Johnson. He’s coming off a game where he had 7 targets, and the 7 Hill had are now going to be up for grabs. Not to mention, the New York Giants may have lost their best defender last week.
Will Dissly
Let’s put a Charge in your lineup again!
Will Dissly has been a solid streamer for us lately. He won’t necessarily win your week, but it’s the volume we are looking at. Dissly was on the injury report last week, so that may have played into him not scoring a point in Week 13, but he saw a high route participation at 71%. Ladd McConkey has been banged up for a lot of the season but left the game Sunday early with a knee injury. You’ll need to monitor the practice reports to know for sure, but without JK Dobbins out as well, the Chargers need pass catchers. Look no further if you’re looking for a pivot in the bye-wrecked week.
Cade Otton
Keep Calm, and Otton on
With Chris Godwin and Mike Evans getting hurt, Cade Otton filled a huge void in Tampa Bay’s receiving group. He crushed at that time. In the two weeks since Mike Evans returned, Cade has 7.5 points across the two weeks. This week, the Buccaneers draw the Raiders, who are 31st against the tight end position. Tampa Bay also finds themselves in reach of the division after three losses to Atlanta in a row. Otton is heavily rostered, but if he hits waivers this week after two duds or you’ve lost confidence, this week looks like a good game for him to finish high.
