Streaming Tight Ends
National Tight End Day sure didn’t disappoint. We saw 17 touchdowns scored on the week. That’s a third of the amount scored in the season’s first seven weeks. Unless you played Cole Kmet or Jake Ferguson, you were content with the performance. Cade Otton stole the show Sunday as he flourished in the offense without Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. Kyle Pitts was inches away from a drastic change in his fantasy score. The ball was knocked out of his hand as he carelessly held it, crossing the goal line. Luckily, he finished with the two scores. Sam LaPorta finally saw a solid all-around day; really, everyone on the Lions did. It was such a good day that David Montgomery was the one who tossed the TD to him. All in all, it was an excellent week for the position.
This week, we see George Kittle and Freiermuth on a bye, but there are plenty of options to play. Jameis Winston proved he could move the offense even if it was against the Ravens’ horrid passing defense. Jake Ferguson should look to have a bounceback game in Atlanta. Evan Engram has the potential to be dominant down the stretch of the season. Rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. looks to be out for 2 to 4 weeks, and Christian Kirk is out for the season with a broken collarbone. Engram and Kirk thrive in the same part of the field, and that is why Engram crushed last year without Kirk. Continue to play Cade Otton; good days should only continue as the focal point of the pass catchers.
And now, here are a handful of streaming options for you all to consider this week:
Taysom Hill
Is he finally back??
We’ve tried to come back to this guy for a while now, and it seems like he’s finally ready to suit up. The entire team is struggling to play in New Orleans, and this offense needs an injection of talent, and it seems that’s exactly what Hill can do. The Panthers cannot stop the run, so being able to play a tight end that can receive rushing attempts is a steal. Most likely, you have another guy to play on your roster, but Taysom Hill adds a fun tangent of a player that can go off in just about any game.
Will Dissly
Let’s do it again.
Ladd McConkey put on a show last week with his two touchdowns, but we still have yet to see a pass catcher truly emerge in this offense. Enter Will Dissly. He has seen a target share of 29% and 23% over the last two weeks. His matchup with the Browns is a tougher one, but if Jameis can move the ball, it may force the Chargers to throw at a bit of a higher rate. A deeper dart throw, but if the target share remains, he can return value as a nice fill-in for the week.
Jonnu Smith
Swimming in the deep end
Lastly, we are going to look at Jonnu Smith. He was commanding a decent workload in the last two games before Tua came back, and last week, we saw the targets continue. He saw 6 targets in Tua’s return and could find himself used more in Mike McDaniel’s offense, as he was the skill type that could shine. The divisional matchup with the Bills has an implied total of 50 points and presents us with some potential points across the entire Dolphins offense.
