Streaming Tight Ends: Week 9

Dan highlights some Week 9 Streamers at the Tight End position.

Pre-Monday Night Football, Brock Bowers posted another position-leading 28.2 PPR points on two touchdowns.  Trey McBride wasn’t far behind, scoring 20.2 PPR points despite (or perhaps thanks to) his quarterback getting benched.  Harold Fannin, Dalton Kincaid, and Mike Gesicki rounded out the top five, with the latter continuing his impressive touchdown streak.

As for our streamers, Hunter Henry played just 13% of the snaps before leaving with an injury.  He earned three targets in that brief stretch.  Gunnar Helm had a strong performance, turning nine targets into five receptions for 76 yards.  He added a two-point conversion to bring his PPR total to 14.6 points.  Michael Mayer turned in a solid-but-unspectacular 10.3 PPR points on six targets.

Greg Dulcich

Rostered in 6% of Sleeper leagues / 6% of Yahoo leagues / 1.4% of ESPN leagues

The Dolphins still look awful, but the last three weeks they’ve at least been able to score when other teams push them.  Miami has scored at least 19 points in each of those games.  Greg Dulcich has earned target counts of five, five, and six.  He hasn’t posted a big game yet, but it’s encouraging that he’s carved out a semi-consistent role for himself.  This week, the Dolphins face the Detroit Lions.  The Lions possess a bad secondary and an explosive offense, and that’s a good recipe for fantasy success for the teams facing them.  Malik Willis is in a nice spot, as the Lions have struggled defending rushing quarterbacks the last few seasons.  If Willis can get going, Dulcich should be one of the prime beneficiaries.  If nothing else, Dulcich should get plenty of exposure to garbage time in the second half of this game.

Eli Raridon

Rostered in 4% of Sleeper leagues / 1% of Yahoo leagues / 1.9% of ESPN leagues

With Hunter Henry catching the Patriots’ injury bug, Eli Raridon steps into a huge opportunity.  Raridon instantly stepped into an every-down role, playing 92% of the snaps last week.  He only earned four targets, catching just one for five yards, but he’ll have an elite role until Henry comes back.  Raridon has already flashed big-play and red zone ability, so we can expect him to make the most of this opportunity.  First up on the schedule is a date with the Green Bay Packers.  The Packers do not present an easy defensive matchup, but their offense can score enough to force the Patriots to keep throwing.  Additionally, the Packers lack the type of game-breaking pass rusher that Drake Maye has struggled with this year.  Look for Raridon to return solid value on volume alone, with upside for more if this game turns into a shootout.

Mason Taylor

Rostered in 17% of Sleeper leagues / 17% of Yahoo leagues / 12.3% of ESPN leagues

Back to the Mason Taylor well we go.  Taylor comes with some risk as he only played 62% of the snaps last week and has a very talented Kenyon Sadiq nipping at his heels.  But for now, Taylor has carved out a nice role in a surprisingly fun passing offense.  The Jets play the Chiefs this week, who have done a good job limiting perimeter receivers and tend to use defensive schemes that aim to take away an opponent’s strengths.  The strength of the Jets’ passing attack is Garrett Wilson, and if he’s contained, Taylor has by far the softest matchup on the Jets’ offense.  This game has the potential to be high-scoring, and if it’s not, then it seems likely the Jets will be the team throwing late to try and close the gap.  Either way, Taylor should see strong volume to go with a red zone role
