The Best QB Throws: Week 1

Your weekly highlight reel from quarterbacks across the NFL

Every week we will bring you a selection of the best throws from quarterbacks across the NFL. Did you see an amazing throw worthy of inclusion? If so, you can tweet @TheQBList on Twitter to let us know and we’ll give you a shout-out here in the article if your tip makes the cut.

Anthony Richardson to Alec Pierce

One of the most boom-or-bust throwers in the league, young Anthony Richardson showed us the boom early in this contest with a remarkable deep ball to Alec Pierce for six. His ability to produce that from where he was behind the offensive line was pure magic.

Derek Carr to Rashid Shaheed

Let’s give credit where credit is due as Derek Carr may not be a regular in this article this season. But the maligned signal-caller produced some of the best quarterback play we saw over the opening weekend. A bomb to speedster Rashid Shaheed got the Superdome loud!

Sam Darnold to Justin Jefferson

Everyone’s favorite comeback story is alive in Minnesota – Sam Darnold returns as a starter in winning fashion with an accomplished performance in Week 1. Darnold dropped this dime into Justin Jefferson‘s bread basket as part of a 99-yard touchdown drive.

Trevor Lawrence to Brian Thomas Jr.

Welcome to the NFL, Brian Thomas Jr.! The wideout was excellent in his debut and when quarterback Trevor Lawrence saw him run the perfect route at the back of the end zone, he nailed him with this perfect pass.

Baker Mayfield to Mike Evans

A tremendous four-touchdown start for Baker Mayfield, who looked better than he ever has in the pocket in a dominant win over the Commanders. Mike Evans once again delivered for his quarterback with a number of great grabs. This was all about Baker’s bravery in the pocket, however.

Bo Nix to Josh Reynolds

Hey, we see you, rookie! He may have been the last of the record six quarterbacks selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft but Bo Nix looked the real deal in Denver’s opening game of the year. Spreading the ball around with good playbook intelligence, Nix could emerge as one to watch as he develops this season. Josh Reynolds with a nice grab here.

Justin Fields to George Pickens

A nice job from Justin Fields, who has been treated pretty badly as a young quarterback over the offseason and stepped in at the last minute for an “injured” Russell Wilson to galvanize his team to a road win over the fancied Falcons in Atlanta. He made several key plays including this dart to find George Pickens and pick up valuable points just before the half.

C.J. Stroud to Nico Collins

A superstar in the making, C.J. Stroud started this season the way he ended his brilliant debut year, throwing bombs deep down the field. Nico Collins was once again his favorite target and the two connected for a big gain at a crucial time in the game.

Jared Goff to Jameson Williams

Watching this beautiful deep spiral from Jared Goff land perfectly in Jameson Williams‘ hands is what this article is all about. Poetry.
