The Best QB Throws: Week 2

Your weekly highlight reel from quarterbacks across the NFL

Every week we will bring you a selection of the best throws from quarterbacks across the NFL. Did you see an amazing throw worthy of inclusion? If so, you can tweet @TheQBList on Twitter to let us know and we’ll give you a shout-out here in the article if your tip makes the cut.

Sam Darnold to Jalen Nailor

You’ve probably watched the Sam Darnold 97-yard touchdown throw to Justin Jefferson at least 50 times by now and that pass is more than worthy of being in this article. However, Darnold’s perfect throw to Jalen Nailor on third-and-long at a key time in the fourth quarter was even better. Outstanding.

Derek Carr to Rashid Shaheed

You may be forgiven for thinking you are reading last week’s article but this bomb from Derek Carr to Rashid Shaheed for a 70-yard score was the second time in two weeks these two have connected over the top of a big touchdown. More please!

Geno Smith to DK Metcalf

The sight of DK Metcalf streaking clear downfield deserved this beautifully flighted pass from his quarterback to hit the Seahawks’ superstar wideout in stride. Geno Smith has guided his team to a 2-0 start and has already shown a more aggressive tendency to throw downfield. We like!

Kyler Murray to Elijah Higgins

There is an angle of this throw that shows Kyler Murray turning away to celebrate a couple of seconds before Elijah Higgins catches the pass. Haha, pure genius from the Cardinals signal-caller, who has started the year on fire.

Joe Burrow to Jermaine Burton

The dart emoji says it all – the perfect downfield bomb from Joe Burrow to find rookie Jermaine Burton in behind the Chiefs defense, something that is not easy to do under Steve Spagnuolo.

Justin Herbert to Quentin Johnston

Sophomore wide receiver Quentin Johnston needs to step up this season and it will certainly help him if Justin Herbert keeps finding him with dimes like this – note the throw is slightly inside the cornerback, something that the route clearly mandated late in the play. Nice!

Kirk Cousins to Darnell Mooney

A beautiful throw off the back foot from Kirk Cousins down the seam to connect precisely with Darnell Mooney for a touchdown that changed the game for the Falcons in their win in Philly.

CJ Stroud to Nico Collins

Huge credit to C.J. Stroud and Nico Collins, who have put the work in on and off the field to develop one of the most in-sync connections in the NFL over the past year or so. This perfectly run route is met by a pinpoint pass for six. Poetry!
