How?! Just sensational stuff from Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert! After evading pressure, Herbert somehow maneuvers away to get himself in a position to throw albeit off balance and on the front foot. The execute that deep ball to Jalen Guyton is another level of elite play.

“Hey, look at us? Who woulda thought it? Not me!” For the second time in three weeks, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith makes our best throws of the week thanks to this absolute laser to DK Metcalf up high and to the back of the end zone. The score came at a crucial time in the game and Geno put in another terrific performance as the starter in Seattle.

Patrick Mahomes to JuJu Smith-Schuster

Ah, the old sidearm magic makes an appearance in a big spot for Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs offense this week. On a huge third down late in the game, Mahomes expertly navigated out of the pocket before stepping up to fire a sidearm dart to JuJu Smith-Schuster for a big gain. You just can’t plan for these types of throws. Lovely stuff.

Kirk Cousins to K.J. Osborn

Game winner! And it deserved to be. Kirk Cousins shook off a dicey performance in prime time against the Eagles to break the hearts of Lions fans and send his Minnesota Vikings home with an important divisional win. Cousins hit promising young receiver K.J. Osborn in stride after a brilliant route to leave former Vikings corner Mike Hughes for dead.

Trevor Lawrence to Christian Kirk

How good is Trevor Lawrence! All he needed was a competent coach and a few more playmakers – the former Clemson starlet has been sensational in his second year in the league so far for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Doug Pederson is dialing up all the plays and Lawrence is executing like a seasoned pro. This dart to Christian Kirk for six is a joy to behold. Lawrence puts it where only Kirk can grab it, the perfect location.

Matthew Stafford to Cooper Kupp

Video game moves from Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford here as he evades the oncoming pass rusher before firing a beautifully unorthodox pass into the arms of Cooper Kupp to keep the offense moving. Amazing ingenuity from the 2021 Super Bowl Champion.

Aaron Rodgers to Allen Lazard

This absolute dime from Aaron Rodgers to hit Allen Lazard down the sideline late in the fourth quarter was vintage Rodgers. The Green Bay Packers quarterback was a step ahead of Tom Brady all day with his passing and rightly came out the victor in this contest of great signal-callers.

Russell Wilson to Melvin Gordon III

…and yes, we had to! We finish up this week’s selection with that Russell Wilson chest pass to Melvin Gordon III on Sunday Night Football – making something happen on a stuttering offense is Wilson’s modus operandi and this bit of innovation against the 49ers was no different. Magical stuff.
