Week 12 of the NFL season has just about wrapped up. Whether winning or losing in Week 12, it’s time to make some moves to help your team reach the ultimate goal. In this article, we will talk about the key players worth picking up to help improve your roster. We will discuss what they have done and why they are important players to pick up on rosters. We will also talk about whether they are worth spending that number one waiver claim and how much FAAB percentage you should use on them.
The Week 12 waiver wire is starting to have some names that you will want to pick up to help your fantasy roster. There is a nice mix of players who all produced in Week 12 and should have value moving forward.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR – NO
One of the top waiver wire pickups for Week 13 has to be Saints receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The veteran receiver has not been a player who has been so consistent, but as a member of the Saints, it’s a different story. Valdes-Scantling fits perfectly with the offensive concept; the Saints want to use him as the deep threat in this offense. After seeing over 50% of the offensive snaps the prior 2 weeks, he has back-to-back games over 15 fantasy points. Valdes-Scantling’s deep threat ability was the piece the Saints have been missing since Rashid Shaheed went down with injury. There is a good chance some fantasy managers dropped Valdes-Scantling during the Bye week. He is a key weapon in this Saints offense and is worth grabbing as a FLEX player in lineups.

Jeremy McNichols, RB – WAS
Our running back pick-up has to be Washington Commander Jeremy McNichols, who could see an expanded role in Week 13. Brian Robinson Jr. got banged up with an injury in Week 12, and Austin Ekeler left with a concussion. McNichols, at worse, could have Ekeler’s role in the offense, but he could also see the starting role if both top backs were to miss time. The Commander’s running backs have a major role in the offense, especially in the red zone. McNichols will face off against the Titans, who have allowed a touchdown to an opposing running back in 5 straight games. Before we find out he could be the starter in Week 13, McNichols is a player worth adding now.

Russell Wilson, QB – PIT
Our quarterback pick-up of the week is Russell Wilson. Wilson may get dropped by fantasy managers after his performance on Thursday Night Football. Let’s be real; it’s hard to have a great passing game in a snow outing. Wilson should bounce back in Week 13 as he faces off against the Cincinnati Bengals. Before the Bengals’ BYE week, the Bengals allowed back-to-back QB1 performances to Lamar Jackson and Justin Herbert. This game screams a high-scoring passing upside for the Steelers offense. Wilson has been solid as a starter, but he needs those touchdowns for a great game for fantasy lineups. He may be the quarterback worth picking up in Week 13.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, WR – TEN
Our next player to add is wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine from the Titans. Westbrook-Ikhine continues to be a solid FLEX option in fantasy football. He has double-digit fantasy points in three of his last four games. Whether it is yardage or touchdowns, Westbrook-Ikhine has become a big part of this Titans offense since DeAndre Hopkins was traded away. He’ll face off against the Commanders in Week 13, which could be another game that puts the Titans in a negative game script. Westbrook-Ikhine is a touchdown machine with six touchdowns in the last seven games. He offers an upside FLEX play for a fantasy manager who needs a big play in their fantasy lineups.

Noah Gray, TE – KC
Our tight end pick-up this week is a little risky, but Noah Gray has earned the option to be a waiver wire pick-up this week. Gray has back-to-back weeks now of two touchdown games. At times this season, Gray has been involved in the Chiefs’ offense as an important piece. He has over ten fantasy points in 3 of the last six games. He’ll face off against the Raiders on Black Friday, who have been poor against the position. We could see Gray have another great outing since the Raiders have allowed six touchdowns over the last four games. Gray could be in for another score in Week 13.

Adonai Mitchell, WR – IND
Our final pick-up is another injury-related player in Adonai Mitchell. Josh Downs left early in the second quarter with a shoulder injury, which should open the door for Mitchell to see a bigger workload. The Colts’ passing offense should have a much better day as they face off against the Patriots in Week 13. The Patriots have allowed 230 passing yards and two touchdowns in 4 of the last five games. Mitchell has proven he can produce when one of the Colts starters misses a full game. Mitchell could be a good stash if Downs’ injury is long-term.
