Waiver Wire Adds for Week 7

Looking at six players to claim off of waivers going into Week 7.

Week 6 of the NFL season has just about wrapped up. Whether winning or losing in Week 6, it’s time to make some moves to help your team reach the ultimate goal. In this article, we will talk about the key players worth picking up to help improve your roster. We will discuss what they have done and why they are important players to pick up on rosters. We will also talk about whether they are worth spending that number one waiver claim and how much FAAB percentage you should use on them.

The Week 7 waiver wire is starting to have some names that you will want to pick up to help your fantasy roster. There is a nice mix of players who all produced in Week 6 and should have value moving forward.

Top 6 Waiver Wire Pickups

Drake Maye, QB – NE

The top waiver wire pickup for Week 7 is rookie quarterback Drake Maye. The Patriots quarterback played well for fantasy at the start of his first career. He finished with 240 passing yards and three touchdowns. He did manage to have two turnovers but played well overall. While some of it may have been in garbage time, he attempted to keep the Patriots competitive through the third quarter. Maye is young and has a lot of potential to help this Patriots offense and our fantasy team. Maye has an opportunity in Week 7 as he faces the Jaguars. The Jaguars are a mess, and they just allowed another rookie quarterback to throw four touchdowns. Maye is your option if you need a quarterback in Week 7.

Isaac Guerendo, RB – SF

Our first running back pickup is Isaac Guerendo from the 49ers. Current starter Jordan Mason suffered an AC joint sprain that forced him to miss time during the TNF game. While the team said he was day-to-day, it’s hard to trust players dealing with an injury. If Mason were forced to miss a week, then Guerendo has a chance to start. Guerendo wasn’t overall successful with his chances outside his 76-yard run. That is what Guerendo can offer as a risky upside play who has the breakaway speed for fantasy. You may want to pick him up now before waiting for the team to tell us about Mason. Patrick Taylor is an option to consider as well.

  • FAAB % – 10%

Jordan Whittington, WR – LAR

The Rams rookie receiver Jordan Whittington should be a top pick-up at the receiver position. You may have forgotten Whittington’s Week 5 game, where he finished with seven receptions for 89 yards. While there are talks about a possible Cooper Kupp return in Week 7, it could be a long shot. I’m interested in the young rookie coming off a BYE week since the team could have plans to get him even more involved in the offense. Whittington needs to be picked up if you need some receiver depth or a possible FLEX option.

  • Top Waiver Priority – No
  • FAAB % – 7%

Demario Douglas, WR – NE

We mentioned the Patriots quarterback, so we need to discuss one of his favorite targets in Week 6. DeMario Douglas led the way with 9 targets on Sunday for 92 yards and a touchdown. Drake Maye was looking towards Douglas very often in the game against the Texans. Now that Maye is at quarterback, we may find some consistency with this offense for fantasy. Douglas is a solid receiver to add to have as depth on your fantasy team. He should be a solid FLEX option during BYE weeks.

  • Top Waiver Priority – No
  • FAAB % – 7%

Noah Fant, TE – SEA

Our tight end pick-up of the week is Noah Fant. The Seattle tight end has had some decent outings over the last four weeks. In at least two of those games, he has had six receptions for 60 or more yards. While the Seattle offense has a ton of pieces on offense, Fant gets this opportunity to produce. He’ll be playing in a matchup against the Falcons in Week 7, so you should expect a high-scoring game. While the tight-end landscape has been a headache in 2024, Fant may be able to give you some consistency for Week 7.

  • Top Waiver Priority – No
  • FAAB % – 5%

Ty Chandler, RB – MIN

Our last waiver wire pickup is Minnesota Viking, Ty Chandler. The Vikings running back was on BYE last week. In Week 5, Aaron Jones suffered a hip injury that caused him to be ruled out of the game early on.  If you didn’t hold Chandler during his BYE, you must scoop him now. We could see Chandler in the starting role in Week 7. While the matchup isn’t the greatest, the Vikings offense has been top-notch this year and getting a week of rest may lead to him seeing the starting job in Week 7. Chandler should be picked up if you are dealing with tons of injuries at running back this year.
