Week 18 is here, congratulations to everyone that was able to take down their seasonal championship. To those of you playing in your finals this week, why? Anywho, as it has been all year, this will typically not cover teams with ownership above 50% or any plays from the previous week. So if you have a defense like the Bucs, you should be starting them every week. If you grabbed a team last week and want to start them again, great! No need to waste waiver priority. If you would like to talk about a selection or have any questions, reach out to me on Twitter (@Doombot12_FF) or find me over at the QB List Discord.
Washington Football Team
Opponent: @ New York Giants
DraftKings: $3100
FanDuel: $5000
Although WFT has been rolling out a preseason team recently, they’re still miles better than anything the Giants can do on offense. Last week they were historically bad against Chicago, not exactly a lock down defense, throwing for only 24 yards with 2 interceptions on 11 attempts. Now they’re going to have to play a QB deemed less worthy of the start last week than Mike Glennon. Both Chicago and Philadelphia scored their second-highest fantasy totals of the year and now it’s Washington’s turn to benefit. On DraftKings, they are not in the top tier of pricing, coming in $900 less than Tampa Bay. That makes a huge difference, especially in GPP’s.

Kansas City Chiefs
Opponent: @ Denver Broncos
DraftKings: $3100
FanDuel: $5000
Kansas City will be fighting for the #1 seed this weekend against a divisional opponent on the road. While that exact scenario is not perfect, there’s a very important name worth mentioning, Drew Lock. With Lock under center for Denver, the Chargers’ D/ST tallied only their second game of the year with double-digit scoring. We’ll need to monitor Teddy Bridgewater, who has remained in the concussion protocol, and wait to hear from Vic Fangio to be sure he has a decision in place. If Teddy B ends up suiting up for the finale, the Chiefs obviously get a downgrade. They are still a good start in seasonal leagues, but at their price, I would pivot away in DFS.

Indianapolis Colts
Opponent: @ Jacksonville Jaguars
DraftKings: $3800
FanDuel: $4800
The Jaguars hemorrhage points to D/ST’s and the Colts have found their identity. That’s a great combination for fantasy success. This is a dangerous team and it starts with their defense. Their pass rush has been improving since early in the season and the secondary is putting in weekly All-Pro performances to match that of Darius Leonard, the unquestioned leader of the defense and candidate for Defensive Player of the Year. They have four double-digit scoring weeks in their last seven games. They’ve forced 13 turnovers and recorded 13 sacks in that same span. This game could get ugly if the Jags don’t contain Jonathan Taylor and a negative game script for the QB chucking up the most turnover-worthy passes in the league is maybe not ideal for Jacksonville. At $3800, I can see them producing a 3x return with ease.

New Orleans Saints
Opponent: @ Atlanta Falcons
DraftKings: $3400
FanDuel: $4900
There are few teams playing better defense than the Saints right now. Marshon Lattimore is having another solid season and the pass rush is getting home. They have not scored under eight points in their last four games and in that span, they have forced five turnovers and have recorded an eye-popping 17 sacks. The Saints are also playing for a playoff spot and have a reasonable shot just needing the Rams to beat the 49ers and of course, the Saints taking care of business against an Atlanta team with nothing to play for, other than playing spoiler. Even outside of just the last four weeks, the Saints are a top-five fantasy D/ST and the Falcons give up the 2nd most points to opposing squads, behind only the Jaguars. They have a roster percentage in the high 70’s so it’s unlikely they would be on waivers, but would be a top play if available. Otherwise, they present as a solid pivot off of chalk in DFS.
