Welcome to the Sunday edition of Injury Report, your one-stop shop for Sunday morning lineup tinkering with injury updates for all NFL teams and their fantasy viable players.
Here is where we stand on the morning of Week 2:
Arizona
-Healthy
-Outlook- The Cardinals will have an uphill battle vs a heavily favored Rams team. Look for the Cardinals to break out all the tricks they have to get their playmakers in positions to be successful.
Atlanta
–Devonta Freeman– out
-Outlook- Tevin Coleman elevates to must play territory based on the volume alone.
Buffalo
-Healthy
-Outlook- Josh Allen, Welcome to the NFL.
Carolina
–Greg Olsen– out
-Curtis Samuel-out
-Outlook- Ian Thomas steps into a big role and immediately puts himself in the streaming category. D.J. Moore, rookie WR also logically should fall into more targets with the absence of Olsen.
Chicago
-Healthy
-Outlook- Chicago comes back to primetime all healthy and ready to take on Seattle.
Cleveland
-Healthy
-Outlook-Cleveland is still a huge question mark in regards to how the offense will shake out week to week but they do take on a New Orleans Defense which was responsible for 40 plus points allowed to Tampa Bay. If Cleaveland can dictate offensively at all we should be in for a fun game. Look for Carlos Hyde and Jarvis Landry to continue their active roles.
Dallas
-Healthy
-Outlook- Look for Dallas basically to try again at scoring the same way they tried against Carolina except vs a worse defense in the Giants. Ezekiel Elliott will continue to be as safe as possible for touches.
Denver
-Healthy
-Outlook- Case Keenum welcomes in another bad defense in Oakland.
Detroit
–LeGarrette Blount-likely to play
-Outlook-Detroit will look to establish their offensive identity in a road game at San Francisco that hopefully will see a plethora of points scored. Start all lions pass catchers.
Green Bay
–Aaron Rodgers– Questionable
–Aaron Jones– Suspended
–DaVante Adams- Probable
-Outlook-Everything for the Packers depends on if Rodgers plays. If he is in you roll Adams out and hope for the best. If he doesn’t I do think Adams will still contribute however he becomes a WR3/Flex as opposed to a WR1/2. Even if Rogers is to play the Minnesota defense is in a prime position to dictate gameflow. Not a single Packer is a must play unless Rodgers and Adams suit up. Even then they are still lower ranked than they would be in almost any other matchup.
Houston
–Keke Coutee– out
–DeAndre Hopkins-questionable
–Will Fuller-probable
-Outlook- Houston is banged up and will be looking for their depth pieces to step up. If WIll Fuller plays it is reasonable to bet he finds the Endzone.
Indianapolis
-Healthy
-Outlook- Andrew Luck heads into Washington for his 2nd game since returning to the field in two seasons. Expect him to look more comfortable in the Frank Reich offense.
Jacksonville
–Leonard Fournette-status uncertain
–Marqise Lee-out
-Outlook- Jacksonville is not a safe fantasy backfield this week. Fournette could play 5 snaps or he could play 25. Yeldon stands to see work but if Fournette is good to go his role will be contained to 3rd downs and passing down situations, limiting his upside.
Kansas City
-healthy
-Outlook- A lot of points to be scored.
LAC
–Travis Benjamin
-Outlook- The chargers are strong favorites- all engines are at full go
LAR
-Healthy
-Outlook- The Rams are good to go.
Miami
-DeVante Parker
-Outlook- Not too many key takeaways from Miami’s last games leave the fantasy community ready to see what they will do in a game that only takes up one time slot. Parker is a questionable play but he could step into a very prominent role soon if his health is up to par.
Minnesota
-Healthy
-Outlook- all the fantasy starters are good to go in Minnesota.
New England
–Sony Michel-Questionable
–Rex Burkhead-Questionable
–Julian Edelman-suspended
-Outlook- Seems like a James White game.
New Orleans
–Mark Ingram-suspended
-Outlook- The Saints taking on Cleveland should be a safe bet for all the Saints on offense. Unless the Cleveland defense rises to a level of play that would result in the public falling head over heels for their defense.
NYG
-Healthy
-Outlook- Game two of the blue crew. All Giants are starters vs Dallas.
NYJ
-Healthy
-Outlook- The Jets should fall somewhere between playing to the standard they established vs the Lions and the Jets as the world has known them to be over the last 20 years. WIth a wide range of outcomes in mind I do think it is safe to say the Jets finally have a QB who seems sustainable. So have no fear rolling out the Jet WRs in a flex situation.
Oakland
–DeAndre Washington– out
-Outlook- Oakland looked pedestrian at best in the 2nd half vs the Rams. The Raiders will look to get things on track vs Denver, however you should be examining the raiders as glass half empty, not half full in this match up.
Philladelphia
–Darren Sproles -out
–Alshon Jeffery-out
–Carson Wentz-out
-Outlook- Philadelphia takes on a Tampa team who shouldn’t pose issues in stopping them from scoring. But Tampa could make this game interesting if they can match the eagles on the scoreboard. The running game will go through Ajayi and Nelson Agholor is in line for some of the safest target share in all of week 2.
Pittsburg
–Le’veon Bell– Hold Out
–Ben Roethlisberger-Likely to Play
–Vance McDonald– Questionable
-Outlook-Pittsburgh is going to score a lot of points. As long as Ben plays there is no reason not to expect anything less than a top 10 QB play and thus all starting Steelers have some built in upside. Extending to Vance McDonald and Justin Hunter.
Seattle
–Doug Baldwin-Out
-Outlook- Seattle will come into Chicago in a similar place they were in last week. A lot of responsibility on the shoulders of Russell Wilson to lead. Tyler Lockett should be flex worthy in the absence of Baldwin.
San Francisco
–Marquise Goodwin-Out
-Outlook- San Francisco will look to get back on track at home. Dante Pettis is flex worthy while filling in for Goodwin.
Tampa Bay
-healthy
-Outlook-Ryan Fitz-Magic, gotta love it. Lets see how he does vs the Eagles.
Tennessee
–Delanie Walker-Out
-Outlook-The Titans are without both starting tackles which does pose as reason to think they will struggle vs the Texans. It is hard to expect much of any offensive production without Walker as a safety valve and the offensive line not producing at their usual level. Jonnu Smith immediately steps into a low end TE 2 role with Walker’s injury.
Washington
–Paul Richardson-Questionable
-Outlook- Washington enters week 2 fairly healthy and ready to roll. Feel comfortable starting Alex Smith, Adrian Peterson, Chris Thompson, and Jamison Crowder.
