Weekly Rankings: Ranking Each Position for Week 12

Erik Smith breaks down his Week 12 fantasy football rankings for PPR leagues.

With Week 11 behind us, its time to move on to Week 12. I’ll rank each position for PPR leagues before Thursday Night Football each week. Below each set of rankings, I’ll provide commentary on my more difficult decisions of the week. Best of luck in Week 12!

Week 12 QB Rankings

  • Baker Mayfield shoots up the ranks, as the Browns finally draw a good matchup for their passing game. I expect a get-right game here as he finally cracks the top 10 in my quarterback rankings.
  • I’m out on Jared Goff and the Rams offense until I see something first. In a matchup against a tough Ravens secondary, I don’t see Goff turning things around this week.
Week 12 RB Rankings
  • I may be overranking Jaylen Samuels at #11, but James Conner looks doubtful and I can’t get that Week 4 matchup against the Bengals out of my head where Samuels caught eight passes even with Conner on the field. With the injuries at the wide receiver position, I expect Samuels to get plenty of dump-off passes in this one.
  • In a matchup that should favor the running game, I’m hoping for a bounceback from Tevin Coleman in Week 12. He only gets 50% of the snaps, even with Matt Breida missing time. But this 49ers’ running game should be due for a good week, and the Packers’ weakness is their run defense.
  • I’m not giving up on Devin Singletary just yet. While the vultured touchdowns by Frank Gore and Josh Allen are frustrating, the snaps (74% in Week 11) show a chance at another breakout.
Week 12 WR Rankings
  • I’m all in on Odell Beckham Jr. this week, his targets show someone due a breakout anyway, and this Dolphins team just allowed a huge performance to John Brown and Josh Allen last week. Beckham has behaved pretty well despite a frustrating season, and I could see a squeaky-wheel type situation here.
  • Nick Foles really latched on to D.J. Chark in his first game back, and Tennessee’s passing defense hasn’t been the same since they lost Malcolm Butler. Chark is an excellent play this week.
  • D.K. Metcalf gets a nice matchup against the Eagles secondary, regardless of the status of Tyler Lockett. If Lockett is limited or misses the game, Metcalf would be a high-end WR2 in this matchup that should encourage the Seahawks to put the ball in the air.
Week 12 TE Rankings
  • With the relative lack of depth at the tight end position (especially with George Kittle and Evan Engram likely out with injuries, and Travis Kelce on a bye), I’m not being shy about chasing the hot hand. Jacob Hollister and Ryan Griffin are TE1’s until they show us a reason to bail on them, as players like Gerald Everett, Noah Fant, and Eric Ebron have just been too up and down this year.
