Weekly Rankings: Week 6 IDP Rankings and Notes From Week 5

Nate Watt breaks down the important IDP news from Week 5, and unveils his Week 6 rankings at each defensive position.

Week 5 Notes

  • After 4 players reached 15 tackles in Week 4, we saw none reach the mark in Week 5. Nick Vigil and Troy Reeder led the way with 13 apiece, and Luke Kuechly rode a 12 tackle performance to leapfrog both Blake Martinez and Jordan Hicks for the NFL tackle lead, at 56.
  • The Baltimore Ravens announced that Tony Jefferson will miss the remainder of the season. Chuck Clark and DeShon Elliott are expected to pick up most of the slack in his absence.
  • Despite a phenomenal matchup he’s consistently dominated his entire career, Aaron Donald mustered just 4.75 points against the Seahawks on Thursday night.
  • 49ers rookie Nick Bosa had his breakout game on Monday night, sacking Baker Mayfield twice with 4 tackles, 2 for loss. Thrown in a fumble forced and recovered, and you have a great fantasy outing. Bosa has been remarkable when on the field so far this year, and with Dee Ford‘s health not being optimal right now, we should only continue to see more of the Ohio State product.
  • Packers rookie Darnell Savage may miss time with an ankle injury, and would likely be replaced by Will Redmond.
  • Shaquil Barrett finlly came back to earth, notching just 2 tackles and nothing else against the Saints.
  • There are four teams on bye this week: The Bills, Bears, Colts and Raiders. Plenty of major losses this week, and you should get used to it. Four of my top ten LB’s this week will be out next week.

Below are my Top 50 players this week at each defensive position. Players who appeared on their teams’ injury report as of this writing are in red lettering. Position eligibility is based on FantasyPros, so positional rankings may differ depending on your host site.
