Weekly Rankings: Week 8 IDP Rankings and Notes From Week 7

Nate Watt breaks down the mot important news and happenings from Week 7, and unveils his Week 8 rankings.

Week 7 Notes

  • Blake Martinez was firmly your tackle leader this week, racking up a whopping 16 total tackles en route to a Top 5 finish. Bobby Wagner came closest to rivaling Martinez this week, finishing with 13, while Eric Kendricks and Jessie Bates had 12.
  • Chandler Jones dominated the Giants offensive line on Sunday, finishing the game with 4.0 sacks, 3 TFL, 5 Tackles, and both a fumble recovered and forced. Poor, poor Daniel Jones.
  • After disappointing owners all season, DeMarcus Lawrence finally broke out for his first double-digit point effort of the season, strip sacking Carson Wentz and posting 4 tackles, 1 for loss.
  • Patrick Peterson made his presence felt in his return from suspension, notching 7 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble against the hapless Giants.
  • The Seahawks made a minor splash on Tuesday, acquiring safety/corner Quandre Diggs from the Lions. It’s been a pretty quiet season so far for Diggs, but perhaps a change of scenery will revitalize him. Tavon Wilson should soak up the majority of Diggs’ vacated snaps.
  • The Ravens and Cowboys are on bye this week. This bye week is a quieter one, though next weeks’ (Rams, Saints, Bengals, Falcons) will be tough.

Below are my Top 50 players this week at each defensive position. Players who appeared on their teams’ injury report as of this writing are in red lettering. Position eligibility is based on FantasyPros, so positional rankings may differ depending on your host site.
