What We Saw: Week 1 Primetime Kickoff

Breakdowns of the early Week One Primetime games

The NFL is back and it started with fireworks – a pair of divisional rivalry games that each came down to a single possession. The Philadelphia Eagles outlasted the Dallas Cowboys – and a lengthy weather delay – to earn a win on the season’s opening night while Justin Herbert led the Los Angeles Chargers past Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in beautiful Sao Paulo, Brazil. A handful of standout performances – and one potentially devastating injury – highlighted the season’s first two nights of action:

  • Javonte Williams took the bell cow by the horns in the Dallas backfield with a pair of touchdowns
  • Jalen Hurts rushed for a pair of scores and earned the victory over the Cowboys
  • Keenan Allen was back like he never left for the Chargers
  • Xavier Worthy left the game after a shoulder injury on the first drive, clearing the way for Hollywood Brown to step up for the Chiefs
