Ryan Heath’s QB Rankings
- Tyler Huntley is an immediate streaming option as he steps in for an injured Lamar Jackson. Any quarterback live for double-digit rushing attempts (which he just reached last week, as well as twice in 2021) is an immediate top-12 option in a week with six teams on bye. The Steelers have actually been the 9th-stingiest team against opposing quarterbacks in the last month, with the return of T.J. Watt likely having something to do with that. Still, the Marcus Mariota thesis applies here; rushing attempts make everything else not matter.
- Kenny Pickett is on the other side of this matchup, which means he’s a 2.5-point home favorite. The Ravens have been about league average against quarterbacks this season and tougher more recently, and Pickett has only topped 30 pass attempts once in his last four games. However, he’s played slightly better of late, ranking 15th in EPA/play and 12th in air yards per attempt in that time. There’s enough juice here for a bit of streaming appeal.
- Brock Purdy is a 3.5-point home favorite against Tom Brady’s Buccaneers. He can be thought of similarly to Jimmy Garoppolo; a limited QB likely to benefit from yards after the catch created by the many weapons in his offense. Short throws will be the name of the game, if Purdy’s 5.6 air yards per attempt from last week are anything to go by. The 49ers are notably implied half a point more than the Steelers.
