QB List’s Fantasy Football Rankings: Week 16

Erik Smith and Ryan Heath release their PPR fantasy football rankings for Week 16.

Ryan Heath’s QB Rankings

  • At the time of writing, there are a whopping seven games in Week 16 with an over/under below 40 points. Cold and windy weather threatens many of these games, especially Browns/Saints, Bills/Bears, and Steelers/Raiders. Therefore, many of these rankings could be different by Saturday morning. For more up-to-date asit/start advice, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @QBLRyan.
  • Daniel Jones and Jared Goff (perhaps also weather-pending) are both in pretty good spots this week, but both are rostered in far too many leagues to be considered as streamers. Go with these two if you’re able before considering the other two options.
  • Brock Purdy boasts a 23.5 implied total (tied-8th) and is favored at home against Washington. The Commanders have been the 6th-toughest matchup for opposing quarterbacks for the last month, but that time period includes games against Davis MillsMarcus Mariota, and Daniel Jones. Zooming out on the season overall, Washington has been a fairly average fantasy matchup. Purdy is in one of the best offensive situations in the league, which has allowed him to post the 9th-best EPA/play amongst quarterbacks since Week 13. The scheme and weapons are doing a lot of work here given Purdy’s 2nd-lowest 5.6 air yards/attempt and pedestrian 0.4% CPOE, but yards after the catch still count for us in fantasy football!
  • I may flip on the order of these two players by the end of the week, but Gardner Minshew is the only other truly viable streamer I see this week. Minshew similarly finds himself throwing to perhaps the NFL’s best trio of weapons in A.J. BrownDevonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert (if he returns this week) behind one of the league’s best offensive lines. Vegas has the Eagles implied for 3 less points than the 49ers, leaving them 5-point underdogs to the Cowboys. I lean toward Purdy as the home favorite implied more points, but we could very well see Minshew Mania make a comeback this weekend.
