QB List’s Fantasy Football Rankings: Week 9

Erik Smith and Ryan Heath release their PPR fantasy football rankings for Week 9.

Ryan Heath’s QB Rankings

  • Justin Fields is an every-week starter until further notice and will no longer be an eligible streamer after waivers run Tuesday night. Hopefully you managed to grab him, as it’s unlikely we’ll find any other QB on waivers with his upside for the rest of the season.
  • Luckily, Marcus Mariota is a discount Fields who should be much more widely available. He’s finished top-12 at the position in three of his last four games, is still averaging nearly seven rushing attempts per game, and ranks 9th among currently starting quarterbacks in EPA per attempt. Arthur Smith will never stop establishing the run, but the Falcons’ matchup with the Chargers is tied for the highest over/under on the slate, so banking on rushing and touchdown production from Mariota feels fine this week.
  • Andy Dalton is coming off back-to-back serviceable fantasy performances. The Raiders put up absolutely no fight last week, leading to just 30 pass attempts for Dalton. Lamar Jackson is unlikely to go down so quietly, and the Ravens’ defense has been more of a pass funnel this season. The game total is shockingly high at 48, with the Saints implied as many points as the Buccaneers this week. Dalton is a fine fringe play in a week lacking many other options.
