Seattle Seahawks
Quarterback:
- Russell Wilson (Start/QB1)
I’ll answer the question in the first sentence – yes, if you have Russell Wilson, you’re starting him unless you also have Drew Brees or Lamar Jackson. I still have Wilson as a top 5 quarterback even with the tough matchup. There’s a reason he’s widely considered the front-runner to win MVP – he’s freaking good. For those of you that want to know what Wilson is up against, the 49ers are currently tied with the Patriots for the least fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this year; however, they did lose Kwon Alexander for the year with a torn pectoral muscle.
Running Backs:
- Chris Carson (Sit)
- Rashaad Penny (Sit)
Now, alright, so maybe I don’t mean sit-sit, but this is a really difficult matchup for Chris Carson, so temper your expectations. On the season, the 49ers have allowed the second-least fantasy points to running backs. The running backs in today’s NFL getting his type of workload don’t just grow on trees, but I’m leaning towards him being a low-end RB2/high-end flex this week. Maybe it should also be noted that the Seahawks have been a more pass-heavy team over the last three weeks. Entrenched backup, Rashaad Penny saw the field on just 15% of the Seahawks Week 9 snaps, which pretty much nullifies any thoughts we had of he and Carson being able to coexist as fantasy assets.
Wide Receivers and Tight Ends:
- Tyler Lockett (Start/WR2)
- D.K. Metcalf (Start/Flex)
- Josh Gordon (Sit)
- David Moore (Sit)
- Jacob Hollister (Sit)
Being Wilson’s favorite target certainly has its perks. Over Seattle’s last four games, Tyler Lockett has an incredible 30% target share. Even in a tough matchup, I’m firing up Lockett as a WR2. While D.K. Metcalf doesn’t have Lockett’s target share, he does lead the league in end-zone targets. Getting those high-quality targets keeps Metcalf as a flex starter even in a tough matchup. You’ll have to keep an eye on Josh Gordon’s status as the Seahawks claimed Gordon off waivers and he passed his physical. Gordon’s presence will certainly affect David Moore and Jaron Brown, who were fringe players at best. Jacob Hollister has come out of nowhere following Will Dissly’s season-ending Achilles injury, but his presence has been felt. Hollister has seen 14 targets in the three games and found the end zone twice in Week 9. If you’re in a pinch, you can fire up Hollister as a back-end TE1, but he’s just outside my top 12 tight ends this week.
San Francisco 49ers
Quarterback:
- Jimmy Garoppolo (Start/QB1)
In a week with six teams on bye, I’m comfortable firing up Jimmy Garoppolo as a backend QB1. Seattle has allowed the 11th-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks and while the 49ers want to be a run-first team, Garoppolo has taken a nice step forward with the acquisition of Emmanuel Sanders.
Running Backs:
- Tevin Coleman (Start/RB2)
- Matt Breida (Start/Flex)
The Seahawks’ strength on defense has been against the run as they’ve allowed the 11th-fewest fantasy points to running backs on the year. The 49ers lead the league in rushing play percentage and Tevin Coleman gets the goal-line touches, making him a start as an RB2 this week. In Week 9, Coleman out-snapped Matt Breida 41 to 29, but Breida out-touched Coleman 17 to 14. With the amount of work he’s seeing, Breida’s worth starting as a flex, even in a tough matchup.
Wide Receivers and Tight Ends:
- George Kittle (Start/TE1)
- Emmanuel Sanders (Start/WR2)
- Deebo Samuel (Sit)
- Dante Pettis (Sit)
George Kittle is a TE1 every week, but getting a matchup against the Seahawks is just a cherry on top. For the year, the Seahawks have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends. Emmanuel Sanders has quickly established himself in San Francisco, as he’s found the end zone in each of his first two weeks. Sanders saw nine targets in Week 9 and I expect more of the same this week. Deebo Samuel has ten targets over the last two games and while that workload is intriguing, he remains a sit. Dante Pettis found the end zone in Week 9, but it was on his only target of the game. In total, he’s seen just six targets over the last three games and can remain on the wire.

I’m faced with a must-win against the top team this week (non-PPR, no flex, start 3WR) – would I be crazy to start Jacobs over Saquon and gamble on a higher ceiling? My other RB is Cook.
Yes, you must start cook and barkley
I’m having a hard time deciding on my flex and QB this week.
For the flex It’s between
Chris Carson, Darren Waller, Allen Robinson or John brown.
QB is either Stafford or Josh Allen
You mentioned Curtis Samuel, Larry Fitz, and Brieda all as starters.
I’m in a 12 team PPR league with 2 flex spots. If you had to choose 2, who would you roll with?
