The List: Ranking Each Position for Week 12

Erik Smith releases his Week 12 fantasy football rankings ahead of your weekly waiver wire decisions.

Ever since a missed game due to injury followed by the Vikings’ Week 7 bye, Dalvin Cook has been a fantasy football monster. Cook has finished as the RB1 in three of the last four weeks, and over that span has averaged just over 27 carries a week and produced a total of 7 touchdowns. Despite playing in a low volume passing offense, Cook has also topped 40 receiving yards in three of his last four games and is a threat to take a screen to the house at any moment.

Cook beat up the Dallas defense last week, flashing his wicked stiff arm and violent running style (he had to have his facemask replaced after an early touchdown drive), and is set up for a big game in Week 12. Cook faces a Panthers’ defense giving up the eighth-most yards per attempt on the ground, and with Minnesota fighting to stay in the playoff hunt, he should get all of the work that he can handle. Cook’s schedule gets tougher starting in Week 14, but for the next two weeks, he is capable of carrying some mediocre fantasy teams into the playoffs all by himself.
