The List: Ranking Each Position for Week 4

Erik Smith releases his Week 4 fantasy football rankings in time for your weekly waiver decisions.

WR Ranks

  • This top tier of wide receiver looks totally different from the Week 1 rankings as the position has been hit hard by injuries. Players with injury statuses to monitor ahead of Week 4 include Michael Thomas, Chris Godwin, Diontae Johnson, Julio Jones, Davante Adams, Jamison Crowder, Russell Gage, John Brown, and D.J. Chark Jr. Whew.
  • I keep thinking I’m ranking Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf too high, but with the way Russell Wilson is playing, I don’t think so. Maybe they get up big on Miami and are able to take it easy in the second half, but I’m willing to take that chance. This passing game can score from anywhere on the field.

  • Adam Thielen has just six catches for 60 yards over the last two weeks combined, but I’m hoping the emergence of Justin Jefferson helps take some pressure off of Thielen. If wide receiver was a little deeper right now I would knock him down further, but his target share potential alone makes him a must-start for another week.
  • Odell Beckham Jr. is bumped up to WR16 in a matchup against the Dallas Cowboys that hopefully forces the Browns to be more high volume in the passing game. There aren’t a lot of teams that I expect to pull Cleveland out of its shell, but Dallas certainly qualifies.

  • Tyler Boyd has quietly finished WR9 and WR 10 over the past two weeks, and that is with the benefit of just one touchdown. He’s clearly Joe Burrow‘s best target, and Jacksonville is giving up the most yards per attempt in the passing game this season. WR19 actually feels a little low this week, I may adjust him upward as we approach Sunday.
  • Allen Lazard gets a great matchup against Atlanta with Adams either missing the week or coming off of an injury at the least. The Falcons have given up the sixth-most passing yards per attempt in 2020 and show no signs of improvement. Lazard is a solid WR3 with potential for higher if Adams misses.
