The List: Ranking Each Position for Week 9

Erik Smith releases his PPR fantasy football rankings for Week 9.

QB Rankings

  • Tua Tagovailoa has quietly ripped of finishes of QB10, QB1, and QB14 since his return from injury, managing to be a startable player even last week against the tough Bills defense. Miami doesn’t have much of a ground game, so Tua may be needed often in this one, and the Texans’ defense has allowed the third-most passing yards on the season. Tagovailoa is a quality streamer this week in a rare tough week at the position.

  • Taysom Hill finally returned to practice this week coming off of a bad concussion, and he’s just in time as Jameis Winston has been lost to a torn ACL. He also gets the fortune of facing a Falcons defense that he topped 20 points against two different times during his stretch of starts last season. He’s a near-lock for ten or more carries and a rushing touchdown, making him an excellent fantasy play… if he can stay healthy. He’s my QB16 only because of his health concerns coming off the concussion, as his best role on this offense is being used as a battering ram on the ground.

  • Ryan Tannehill is a tough call this week, as we finally see what this Titans offense looks like without b, and against a tough Rams defense as well. I could certainly see the wheels falling off this offense without Henry, but there is the potential for a high-volume passing game here, and A.J. Brown has looked excellent. I would try to find better options this week if possible, but the upside is there if you need to start him.
