What We Saw Roundup – Preseason Week 2

A new format including all the Preseason Week 2 nuggets and nuance from around the NFL – Here's What We Saw!

Things look a little different around here this season.

Since the beginning of QB List, What We Saw has been the backbone of our fantasy football coverage, a game‑by‑game deep dive built on sharp eyes, smart context, and analysis that went beyond the box score. This season, we’re evolving that tradition.

We’ve consolidated our team and rebuilt the format from the ground up, shifting from game‑assigned writers to position‑focused analysts who track every player across every matchup. The goal is simple: deliver the same level of detail, nuance, and on‑field insight you’ve come to expect, but in a structure that’s clearer, more actionable, and easier to use for fantasy decision‑making.

The lens has changed but the depth of the analysis has not. Welcome to the new era of our flagship fantasy column. Let’s get into what happened this week across the NFL.

One of the many impact faces in different places this year will be Kenneth Walker III. Seeing him in red, white and yellow was slightly jarring, but it’s certainly important for fantasy football entering draft season. Though he didn’t contribute much in the way of stats, he was one of the few fantasy stars that saw snaps this weekend.

Meanwhile, perhaps one of the most important tidbits of preseason news occurred as the week wrapped up. Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty reportedly left practice with a lower body injury. According to social media, Jeanty was unable to put weight on his leg as he was helped off the field by trainers. When this column is published on Monday morning, we might have news on the severity of that injury. Certainly, we’ll have more answers before the regular season begins.

All across the league, we saw backups fighting tooth and nail for their place in the limelight, trying to get quality reps and film in their portfolio for current or future teams. Position battles and roster spot battles were won and lost this weekend, but we all got to watch football – so everyone’s a winner.

Here’s what we saw!
