What We Saw: Week 1

The What We Saw team recaps everything you missed from this week's action

Tyreek Hill had an absolute monster day on Sunday, easily outproducing every other skill player in the league on the day. Tua Tagovailoa was dialed in and the two of them helped lead Miami’s offense all day, keeping up with Justin Herbert and Austin Ekeler en route to a Week 1 victory. Man, that game was fun to watch.

Elsewhere around the league, we had some surprise performances (Rashid Shaheed, Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne, Baker Mayfield), some breakout rookies (Puka Nacua, Bijan Robinson), some head scratching usages (Tyler Allgeier), and a whole lot of rain. The rain was a factor in New England, Cleveland, and New York, and the image of a sad Daniel Jones sulked over in the pouring rain is not one I’ll get out of my head anytime soon.

Dallas’ defense absolutely obliterated the Giants for four straight quarters, and defenses played especially well in the early slate as well. There was some rust for many offenses who chose to sit their starters this preseason.

Hopefully Monday Night Football will be the icing on the cake for what was a wicked fun Week 1!
