New York Giants @ Denver Broncos

Final Score: Broncos 33, Giants  32

Writer: Pranav Babarjung

Fresh off a divisional stomping, the New York Giants dominated, holding the Denver Broncos to zero points … through three quarters. This game actually ended in heartbreak for the Giants thanks in part to two missed extra points by Jude McAtamney. Bo Nix came alive in the fourth quarter to lead the Broncos to 33 points, including a go-ahead field goal by Wil Lutz with 37 seconds left on the clock.

Four Up

  • Jaxson Dart The rookie fought valiantly, almost leading his team to a win with a late fourth-quarter rushing touchdown.
  • Cam Skattebo Skattebo has earned the starting role, leading the team in carries and goal-line touches.
  • Bo Nix Despite not playing well for the majority of the game, Nix put up four touchdowns in the fourth quarter for a huge game.
  • Theo Johnson Johnson led Giants tight ends in targets and managed to find the end zone.

Two Down

  • Pat Bryant The rookie didn’t see any significant usage or deep targets.
  • Jude McAtamney This man lost the Giants the game with a total of two missed extra points.

New York Giants

Quarterback

Jaxson Dart: 15/33, 283 Yards, 3 TDs, INT | 5 Carries, 11 Yards, TD

Jaxson Dart did not play perfectly, but he did all he could to get the Giants the win. It was clear the panic of the fourth quarter wore on him, with two passes that could have been intercepted, but a defensive pass interference by cornerback Riley Moss bailed them out, and set up a 1-yard rushing touchdown. Dart was left scrambling often, but was still able to produce from a fantasy perspective.

Running Back

Cam Skattebo: 16 Carries, 60 Yards | 6 Targets, 3 Reception, 34 Yards, TD

The Skatman had another productive fantasy day, leading the team in carries, targets, and receptions. He got his first receiving touchdown of the season. Cam Skattebo looked hard to tackle, and was able effectively exploit holes in the defensive line.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. : 9 Carries, 46 Yards, TD

In his second game back from injury, Tyrone Tracy was mostly inefficient, but was able to break off a 31-yard touchdown to save his fantasy day.

Devin Singletary: 2 Carries, 2 Yards

Wide Receiver/Tight End

Wan’Dale Robinson: 12 Targets, 6 Receptions, 95 Yards

Wan’Dale Robinson continues to dominate targets on this Malik Nabers-less team. Dart overthrew him on two long plays in the fourth quarter, and he wasn’t able to keep his feet in the end zone to successfully complete a 2-point conversion. He was consistently targeted throughout the game.

Daniel Bellinger: 4 Targets, 3 Receptions, 88 Yards, TD

Daniel Bellinger had a huge fantasy day off not much volume. Dart found him wide open in the first quarter for a 44-yard touchdown. He had one more (unsuccessful) end-zone target in the second quarter, and did not have any targets below 15 yards.

Theo Johnson: 7 Targets, 3 Receptions, 66 Yards, TD

This was an encouraging game for Theo Johnson. He was the second-most targeted pass catcher on the Giants, and capitalized on a bobbled pass that he turned into a 41-yard touchdown.

Denver Broncos

Quarterback

Bo Nix: 27/50, 279 Yards, 2 TDs | 5 Carries, 48 Yards, 2 TDs

For most of the game, Bo Nix looked completely washed. Several passes were batted down and he was throwing passes that needed to go straight through defensive players. But something clicked in the fourth quarter, and Nix and the Broncos came back to life in the clutch. With two passing touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns, and two 2-point conversions, Nix had went absolutely nuclear. If he played like this for all four quarters, the Broncos might be unstoppable.

Running Back

J.K. Dobbins: 14 Carries, 81 Yards | 1 Target, 1 Reception, -1 Yard

J.K. Dobbins continues to dominate this Broncos backfield. His only reception came late in the fourth quarter, and the lack of receiving work could be a cause for concern.

Tyler Badie: 2 Targets, 2 Receptions, 19 Yards

RJ Harvey: 4 Carries, 0 Yards | 2 Targets, 1 Reception, 2 Yards, TD

RJ Harvey did not see any useful usage. His fantasy performance depends entirely on whether he gets into the end zone.

Wide Receiver/Tight End

Courtland Sutton: 10 Targets, 6 Receptions, 87 Yards, 2-point Conversion

Courtland Sutton continues to be Nix’s most consistent receiver. He was targeted in the end zone as well, which ended up resulting in a Troy Franklin touchdown. His final contested reception set the Broncos up to kick the decisive field goal.

Marvin Mims Jr. : 7 Targets, 6 Receptions, 85 Yards | 1 Carry, 13 Yards

The majority of Marvin Mims Jr.‘s production came from two deep passes late in the fourth quarter. This was another inconsistent game from Mims, with three touches in the first quarter and nothing else until the fourth.

Evan Engram: 8 Targets, 5 Receptions, 42 Yards

Just like most of the Broncos’ offense, Engram saw almost no production (only 1 yard) until the fourth quarter. He ends up with an ok fantasy performance.

Nate Adkins: 3 Targets, 2 Receptions, 20 Yards

Troy Franklin: 10 Targets, 3 Receptions, 19 Yards, TD, 2-point Conversion

If I had nickel for each time a bobbled pass led to a touchdown, I’d have two nickels. Troy Franklin tied Sutton to lead Broncos pass catchers in targets, but was not nearly as effective. His touchdown came from a Sutton target that was popped up. He was targeted heavily on pass of 40 or more yards.

Pat Bryant: 4 Targets, 1 Reception, 6 Yards
