The eighth week of the NFL regular season was a strange one, with only one of 11 Sunday games finishing within one score. The blowouts felt contagious – even the Miami Dolphins got involved with a lopsided victory over the Atlanta Falcons. The only close finish of the day came in Cincinnati where the New York Jets – after all of the noise coming out of that organization, including owner Woody Johnson criticizing starting quarterback Justin Fields – got on the board with their first win of the season. Here’s some highlights from a wild day of football:
- Breece Hall had a massive day to carry the Jets’ offense past the Bengals, holding off Ja’Marr Chase.
- Jonathan Taylor went off for another three touchdowns, continuing his nearly historic pace of scoring.
- Bo Nix out-dueled Dak Prescott as the Broncos tore up the Cowboys defense for 44 points.
- Tucker Kraft capped National Tight Ends Day with a big night on Sunday Night Football.
