Erik Smith’s TE Rankings
- A quick recap of the state of the tight end position; hold your noses. We have just 8 tight ends scoring 10 or more PPR points per game this year. And that includes Dallas Goedert and Zach Ertz, who are hurt, and David Njoku, who missed time with an injury. The gap between Travis Kelce (21.7 ppg, TE1) and Mark Andrews (14.5 ppg, TE2) is the same as the gap between Andrews and Evan Engram (TE 21). For those of you who drafted Kelce, you have the year’s most valuable fantasy player — congratulations!
- In Kyle Pitts‘ first game on IR, Falcons tight end MyCole Pruitt scored a touchdown. Pitts has just 3 touchdowns across 27 career games. You really can’t make this stuff up.
- Foster Moreau is on the streaming radar after playing 100% of the snaps and scoring a touchdown last week. His seven targets were second on the team to Davante Adams.
- Tyler Conklin is always on the streaming radar, and despite what looks like a down week last week with just three catches for 50 yards, we should expect the passing volume to remain higher as long as Mike White is under center. I’d expect more of the early-season Conklin going forward, and he was in on 80% of the snaps last week, an encouraging sign.
