The List: Ranking Each Position for Week 11

Erik Smith releases his Week 11 fantasy football rankings ahead of your weekly waiver wire decisions.

WR Ranks

  • Tyler Lockett went 15/200/3 TDs last time out against the Cardinals as Patrick Peterson shadowed D.K. Metcalf. Lockett has a knee injury and plays on Thursday night, so the uncertainty drops him to WR9. He would be the WR3 if at full health. Meanwhile, we have seen Metcalf struggle with shadow coverage from top-end corners this year, so he drops to WR13 for rankings purposes. The upside is too massive to ever sit him, however.
  • After declaring I was higher on Mike Evans than Chris Godwin or Antonio Brown, I promptly rank Godwin ahead of Evans this week. What gives? I worry that Evans will see Jalen Ramsey this week, who has been shutting down receivers all year. I still prefer Evans’ red zone role most week, but he drops to WR20 in this matchup.

  • I’m being cautiously optimistic that Andy Dalton can return and provide competent quarterback play against a Vikings defense that ranks sixth-worst against the pass this year. You can play Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb in a good matchup here, they are just too talented, and the Cowboys defense is too poor for the production to completely disappear. Even Michael Gallup is a fine boom/bust flex if desperate.
  • I docked the Panthers’ wide receivers significantly awaiting news on Teddy Bridgewater‘s knee injury. I fear that P.J. Walker would completely tank this passing game if he were forced into service, and even if Bridgewater plays this offense may be limited. This is a bottom-ten Detroit passing defense they face in Week 11, but we may want to avoid these receivers if loaded at the position.

I see you haven’t listed Chris Carson or Deejay Dallas. Is that due to their injury status?

    • Erik Smith says:

For DeeJay, they seem to be looking for options to play ahead of him, it was Collins last week, and I expect it to be Hyde this week.

Carson just isn’t listed because if he’s active you’re playing him, unless he’s active just for emergency purposes.
