The fantasy landscape is only getting more treacherous on a weekly basis, and Week 6 was no exception. With four teams on bye, including explosive offenses with plenty of fantasy assets in Cincinnati and Detroit (and to a slightly lesser extent, Minnesota, and a FAR lesser extent, Miami), managers had to pivot and adjust to try and earn a win with what amounted to a patchwork lineup in some cases. While usually reliable options like Bijan Robinson and Parker Washington underperformed, streamers and waiver pickups like Dameon Pierce and Germie Bernard shined bright and led those bold enough to start them to big wins.
One of the most reliable plays this season continued his streak of performing as a top running back to earn our featured player honors. It’s Carolina Panthers running back, Chuba Hubbard!
Charleston Chuba
Yes, I know that the Carolina Panthers are based in Charlotte, not Charleston. And yes, I know this game was played in Philadelphia, but much like Hubbard, Charleston Chew is chronically under-appreciated and under-rated. Coming into this season, it was pre-determined by fantasy managers everywhere that Jonathon Brooks would take over the Carolina backfield. That’s proven to be far from the truth as Hubbard (with the help of some injury variance) has been the bell cow in Carolina all season, posting his fifth elite running back finish in as many games with 120 rushing yards and a touchdown to lead the Panthers in a win over the Eagles. He was one of the many fantasy performances that propelled managers to victory or crushed them in defeat.
