Another week in the books, and once again the whole fantasy community is forced to go deep into our bags to make sure we’ve got functional lineups with so many fantasy studs missing due to bye weeks or injuries. Maybe it paid off! With five teams scoring 30 or more points in real life, guys who would have likely been on the bench a few weeks ago, like Omar Cooper Jr. and Tony Pollard, turned up with massive performances, propelling their teams to victory. But none of Sunday’s performances were more dominant or more surprising than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ complete dismantling of the Carolina Panthers, which brings us to this week’s cover athlete: Bucky Irving.
I’d Rather Be Bucky than Good
Irving turned in a 106-yard, two-touchdown performance, earning 24 carries and a couple of targets as the Bucs ran roughshod over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Tampa Bay scored 43 points and ran the ball an astonishing 49 times while Baker Mayfield fired off just 11 pass attempts. That’s one of the highest rushing play percentages I can remember in a non-snow NFL game. Managers were surely tickled with Irving’s 23-point fantasy performance while Kenneth Gainwell and Sean Tucker got theirs, too!
