Bengals @ Ravens
Final Score: Bengals 35 – Ravens 13
Writer: Brett Ford (@FadeThatMan)
Two Up
- Joe Burrow – He flipped the proverbial switch at halftime, finishing with a Gettysburg Address in the second half alone
- Tee Higgins – A monster game, and all of it in the second half.
- Zay Flowers – He remains the heartbeat of the Ravens’ offense. Volume, efficiency, explosiveness.
Three Down
- Derrick Henry – Two-straight bust games from Henry, despite decent volume
- Chase Brown – It might be time to start panicking.
- Dohnte Meyers – Any fantasy manager still holding on to hope that Meyers could be relevant as a WR3 in this offense is out of luck
Cincinnati Bengals
Quarterback
Joe Burrow: 22/30, 292 Yards, 4 TDs | 2 Carries, 12 Yards
It was pretty wild just how bad the entire Bengals offense looked in the first half versus how good they looked after the break.
Bengals first half: 4 drives, 19 plays, 59 yards
Bengals second half: 4 drives, 26 plays, 280 yards, 4 TDs

And this was before their final score of the game. Burrow look as if he has finally settled into the season. After a relatively slow start, this could be a turning point for Burrow and the Bengals as they move through the rest of the year.
Running Back
Samaje Perine: 4 Carries, 16 Yards, TD
Chase Brown: 11 Carries, 39 Yards, | 5 Targets, 4 Receptions, 19 Yards
This was not fun for fantasy managers. So Chase Brown was on the field for nearly 80% of snaps, including running 20 routes and earning 16 opportunities, 80% of the running back opportunity share in this backfield. But he’s still not producing. Worse yet, he was pulled for the one short-yardage snap that mattered most.
Concerning sequence: Chase Brown on field when Mike Gesicki draws a DPI in the end zone. They sub Samaje Perine in for a goal line TD on the next play.

What are Brown managers supposed to do at this point? You can’t cut him, he’s too valuable a piece of a hugely dynamic offense. You can’t start him, because he’s not productive enough with the chances that he’s getting. I guess it’s time to introduce him to the bench until he increases his efficiency.
Wide Receiver/Tight End
Ja’Marr Chase: 7 Targets, 5 Receptions, 62 Yards, TD
It was almost a rough, rough week for Chase managers. But the top flight receiver cashed in with a long catch and a short touchdown in the second half so salvage an otherwise quiet day. His release at the line of scrimmage is one of the filthiest in the league.

Tee Higgins: 7 Targets, 6 Receptions, 148 Yards, TD
Higgins was blanked in the first half, but as the offense got going so did the wide receiver with a massive, massive day of receiving. He’s an auto-start wide receiver whenever he’s healthy.
This Tee Higgins catch on the first drive of the second half really set the tone for that half and the victory today. pic.twitter.com/4wco3T7mKe

Dohnte Meyers: 2 Targets
With both Chase and Higgins healthy, Meyers was an afterthought for Burrow. He also lost snaps to Mitchell Tinsley and Colbie Young, the latter of which returned from injury this week.
Drew Sample: 2 Targets, 2 Receptions, 24 Yards, TD
Mike Gesicki: 1 Target, 1 Reception, 6 Yards, TD
Erick All Jr.: 3 Targets, 3 Receptions, 26 Yards
A gross conglomerate of guys that eat into each other’s production every week. All seems to be the guy between the twenties, while Gesicki is the red zone option. None of them played more than 60% of snaps. Bleh.
Baltimore Ravens
Quarterback
Tyler Huntley: 23/34, 298 Yards, TD, INT | 3 Carries, 12 Yards
You can’t be upset with the performance of a backup quarterback who throws for nearly 300 yards, but the Ravens offense was shut out in the second half for the second-consecutive week. Huntley just can’t make the plays the Ravens need him to make and it allows defense to cue in on running game. On five drives in the second half, Baltimore went three-and-out, turnover on downs (failing to convert on 4th-and-2 from the CIN 12), three-and-out, one-play interception, turnover on downs. For an offense that looked excellent in the first half, the brakes locked up quick. The Ravens need Lamar back ASAP.
Running Back
Derrick Henry: 17 Carries, 45 Yards | 2 Targets, 1 Reception, 4 Yards
Justice Hill: 3 Carries, 7 Yards | 4 Targets, 3 Receptions, 26 Yards
Rasheen Ali: 4 Targets, 3 Receptions, 9 Yards
That’s two consecutive underwhelming games for Henry and the Ravens’ rushing offense. Defenses seem to be able to dial in on the running game because Huntley just isn’t the same kind of threat that Lamar Jackson is throwing or running from under center. If this kind of inefficiency continues when Jackson returns, I’ll truly be concerned about Henry, but for now, we just have to bide time.
Wide Receiver/Tight End
Zay Flowers: 11 Targets, 8 Receptions, 137 Yards, TD
He’s making a play to finish the season as THE WR1. He’s an absolute menace with the ball in his hands, and Declan Doyle has made it a point of emphasis to get him the ball in space at least once or twice every game.

Rashod Bateman: 4 Targets, 2 Receptions, 33 Yards
Ja’Kobi Lane: 5 Targets, 3 Receptions, 25 Yards
LaJohntay Wester: 1 Target, 1 Reception, 15 Yards
There’s a lot of potential here, but potential doesn’t earn fantasy points. Lane has emerged as the WR2b in this offense, playing only three fewer snaps than Bateman and running one more route on the day.
Mark Andrews: 4 Targets, 3 Receptions, 23 Yards
Josh Cuevas: 3 Targets, 2 Receptions, 35 Yards
This is the second-straight week that Cuevas has out-gained Andrews while playing significantly fewer snaps. The situation in the Baltimore tight end room reminds me a lot of Cleveland last season where Harold Fannin Jr. eventually caught and surpassed veteran David Njoku. Cuevas is gaining steam while Andrews might as well be the next star in a Just For Men gel commercial (he’s getting old).
