What We Saw: Week 15

New England lost themselves the #1 overall seed with their debacle in Indy

 Packers @ Ravens

Final Score: Packers 31, Ravens 30

The Packers once again tried to blow it, and the Ravens once again decided to hand the game back over by going for two on the final score of the game.  That said, this one was an offensive battle that went down to the wire.  We saw a good amount of scoring, and if you decided to stream Tyler Huntley, then you were not disappointed in his performance.

In the end, Aaron Rodgers led the Packers to another victory thanks to his top receivers.  The run game was relatively boring, but if you love a pass-heavy NFL, you were entertained.

Let’s take a look at the fantasy-relevant players!

Baltimore Ravens

Quarterback

Tyler Huntley: 28/40, 215 yards, 2 TD | 13 carries, 73 yards, 2 TD

Lamar Jackson Lite, aka Tyler Huntley, got the start with Lamar Jackson sitting thanks to an ankle injury. Huntley was a little uncomfortable in the beginning when it came to scrambling, but he was pretty efficient in throwing the ball.  His first two drives went down the field easily on a top-10 defense.  The first drive didn’t net any points, but he made up for it with a fantastic second drive.

Huntley ran in his first touchdown in the fourth quarter.

And then did it again a short time later.

They went for two but did not convert, which pretty much ended the game.

Huntley proved he can be a good Quarterback in the NFL in this one, totaling four touchdowns and taking care of the ball.  If Lamar Jackson sits again, Huntley is pretty much a must-add in your fantasy league.

Running Back

Devonta Freeman: 6 carries, 22 yards | 1 target, 1 reception, 2 yards

Latavius Murray: 7 carries, 48 yards | 3 targets, 1 reception, 3 yards

Latavius Murray actually got the start in this one after only carrying the ball once last week.  He performed better than his counterpart, Devonta Freeman, however, neither really had a good day.  Huntley did not check down much so you were pretty disappointed if you started either of them.  The Baltimore run game hasn’t been spectacular this year, so more games like this are on the horizon.

Wide Receiver/Tight End

Mark Andrews: 13 targets, 10 receptions, 136 yards, 2 TD

Marquise Brown: 14 targets, 10 receptions, 43 yards

Rashod Bateman: 2 targets, 1 reception, 5 yards

Devin Duvernay: 3 targets, 3 receptions, 13 yards

James Proche II: 1 target, 1 reception, 8 yards

Mark Andrews was getting involved early, catching three of his passes for 69 yards in the first quarter alone, including a 43-yard bomb.

It was for sure a missed tackle by the Packers that allowed him to spring free, but there is no denying the hot streak Andrews is on right now.  He finished off the ridiculous quarter with a touchdown catch.

Obviously, it helps that Huntley was able to scramble and buy some time, but it was a heck of a catch by the star Tight End. And it still didn’t end there. Frankly, this might be the only Raven who I write about this week, cause he caught his second touchdown in the second quarter.

Mark Andrews is “so hot right now”, and he will be the main receiver in that offense.

Marquise Brown had a good day thanks to his large target share and 10 catches, so even though he didn’t score he didn’t disappoint.  Brown should be useable moving forward since he brings speed to the offense and has the ability to burn defenders.  He wasn’t targeted deep much in this one, but you have to assume he should find some more room next week against the Bengals.

The rest of the receivers did nothing of note and probably aren’t rosterable in fantasy.

Green Bay Packers

Quarterback

Aaron Rodgers: 23/31, 268 yards, 3 TD | 4 carries, 12 yards

Aaron Rodgers had another efficient, solid game this week.  The Ravens’ secondary is pretty beat up, so he was able to throw all over them without much issue.  He connected with Marquez Valdes-Scantling on multiple deep passes and avoided mistakes.

There really isn’t much more to say about Rodgers.  He is pretty much a must-start from here on out.  He didn’t look hobbled by the toe, but it is something to pay attention to as the weeks go on.

Running Back

Aaron Jones: 13 carries, 58 yards | 2 targets, 2 receptions, 12 yards, TD

A.J. Dillon: 7 carries, 22 yards, TD | 1 target, 1 reception, 13 yards

Aaron Jones struggled to do much in the first half, but started coming alive in the second half.  He got lucky on a DPI call that extended a drive and allowed him to score an easy touchdown catch.

He was wide open, but it was nice to see another goal-line target.

A.J. Dillon had a little more luck than his counterpart early on, running hard through the tough Raven defense and scoring the first touchdown of the game for the Packers.

After that Dillon really didn’t see too much success.  He had another goal-line carry later on that was stuffed by the Ravens.

The Packer run game was pretty much stifled in this one as well, and the Packers were finding success throwing the ball so they didn’t need to run much.  Jones continues to be the lead back, and it appears as though Dillon will be more of a risky play moving forward.  He has the ability to perform well when he gets the chance, but a healthy Jones makes the opportunities few and far between.

Wide Receiver/Tight End

Davante Adams:  7 targets, 6 receptions, 44 yards, TD

Marquez Valdes-Scantling: 7 targets, 5 receptions, 98 yards, TD

Allen Lazard: 4 targets, 2 receptions, 23  yards

Josiah Deguara: 5 targets, 3 receptions, 16 yards

Marcedes Lewis: 3 targets, 3 receptions, 40 yards

Tyler Davis: 1 target, 1 reception, 22 yards

Marquez Valdes-Scantling had another decent outing, catching multiple deep passes, including one near the end of the second quarter to get the Packers to midfield with 30-seconds left.

He had one earlier in the game that set up the touchdown.

It was a good route and a great adjustment, although this one was just a great pass by Rodgers to drop in in between the defenders.

MVS was highly targeted in this one and it was very evident that Rodgers wanted him involved a ton.  He had multiple catches for deep gains.  He caught a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to extend the Packer lead.

MVS should get enough volume moving forward to be an every-week start in a high potent offense.

Davante Adams saw his first target on a third-and-short and was wide open on a deep route that Rodgers overthrew him on.  That could have been a great start to his day, but it was a rare miss by the veteran Quarterback.  As per usual, he was targeted on a third-and-goal and showed why he is Rodgers’ most trusted target.

Adams will continue to be a target and touchdown beast.

Allen Lazard made some great catches, but really just wasn’t involved enough to be worthy of rostering in fantasy.  As of now, only Adams and MVS are capable of producing week in and week out.
