Colts @ Titans
Final Score: Colts 41, Titans 20
Writer: Riley Blum
The Colts jumped out to an early lead with a pick six on the Titans’ opening drive and led for the remainder of the game. Daniel Jones played well again in an efficient game, and Jonathan Taylor dominated on the ground, scoring three rushing touchdowns. The Titans did manage to force the Colts’ first punt of the season, though.
Three Up
- Jonathan Taylor – JT put up a monster game with over 100 yards on the ground and three touchdowns while averaging 6 YPC. He also saw four targets in the passing game, which continues to raise his floor/ceiling with Daniel Jones at QB.
- Michael Pittman Jr. – Pittman led the Colts across the board in receiving categories and scored their only receiving touchdown in this game. He looked good, racking up yards after the catch.
- Elic Ayomanor – The rookie saw five targets in this game and now has a receiving touchdown two weeks in a row.
Three Down
- Calvin Ridley – Despite leading the Titans in targets, Ridley only managed to haul in one reception.
- Tyler Warren – This is more so a down game in the box score. Warren played well and still saw nearly 70% of the snaps in this blowout after two limited practice sessions this week.
- Josh Downs – Downs only managed 2 catches on 3 targets, and only saw 29 snaps this game.
Indianapolis Colts
Quarterback
Daniel Jones: 18/25, 228 yards, 1 TD, 4 carries, 27 yards
Daniel “Indiana” Jones played good, mistake-free football in this game, taking no sacks and not turning the ball over. He looked sharp and decisive throwing the ball, and continued to make good plays with his feet, including a 17-yard scramble for a first down. This was a good real-life game, but Jones’ worst fantasy performance of the season, with only one touchdown through the air. He’ll continue to be a good play in fantasy as he has some solid weapons in this offense and offers rushing upside.
Missed Opportunities
- Jones nearly had a rushing score but was tackled short of the end zone.
- Jones had a deep pass to Alec Pierce ruled incomplete.
Anthony Richardson Sr.: 4 carries, -1 yard
Richardson came in on the final drive with the game in hand to run out the clock.
Running Back
Jonathan Taylor: 17 carries, 102 yards, 3 TDs, 4 targets, 3 receptions, 16 yards
Taylor looked great in this game, turning 20 touches into 118 yards from scrimmage and scoring three touchdowns. JT continues to see more targets and receiving upside, and he has a real shot of finishing as the RB1 in fantasy if the Colts’ offense continues to hum like this. Taylor broke an. awesome 46-yard touchdown run this game that shows why he is one of the best runners in the game.
i mean. what can't he do. TOUCHDOWN JT‼️

Tyler Goodson: 2 carries, 6 yards
DJ Giddens: 1 carry, 3 yards
Wide Receiver/Tight End
Michael Pittman Jr.: 6 targets, 6 receptions, 73 yards, 1 TD
Pittman led the Colts in all receiving categories and scored their only touchdown through the air in this one. He did well to pick up yards after the catch. Pittman’s role in this offense makes him a relatively safe floor play with TD upside.
Tyler Warren: 5 targets, 3 receptions, 38 yards
Though this was the talented rookie’s lowest fantasy output so far, he did play a good game. The Colts continue to scheme plays for him, utilizing Warren in pre-snap motion and the screen game. Warren was targeted on the Colts’ first play of the game and had a catch in the red zone. Warren also made a key block on Jonathan Taylor’s 46-yard touchdown run. Warren’s snap percentage was lower, playing 39 of 57 offensive snaps, but that was likely more of a function of the game script. I’d look for it to tick back up in the coming games.
Josh Downs: 3 targets, 2 receptions, 34 yards
Downs did have a big play on a 29-yard catch, but it was otherwise a quiet game for him. Downs played 29 snaps to Alec Pierce’s 31. With Downs serving mainly as a slot receiver, he could be a risky play in matchups that might be less competitive for the Colts.
Alec Pierce: 5 targets, 4 receptions, 67 yards
Pierce had the second-most snaps at receiver for the Colts in this one as he continues to play the field stretcher role, though he did see some shorter targets and YAC opportunities in this game. He nearly managed to haul in another jump ball late in the game that would have been a big gain. Pierce did leave this game with a concussion, so his situation will be one to monitor in practice reports this week.
Adonai Mitchell: 2 targets
Mitchell drew a pass interference in the end zone, leading to a Taylor touchdown.
Tennessee Titans
Quarterback
Cam Ward: 23/28, 219 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 3 carries, 12 yards
Cam Ward continued to show some flashes, but it was another tough game as the Titans played from behind nearly the whole game after an opening drive pick six. The Colts’ defense generated a good amount of pressure, sacking Ward four times. The Titans need to get something going in the run game and on defense to help the rookie out. The offense has managed to move the ball into field goal range pretty well, but they have struggled to score touchdowns.
Running Back
Tony Pollard: 16 carries, 45 yards, 1 TD, 4 targets, 2 receptions, 14 yards
Pollard once again saw good volume, but he struggled to get much going behind this line. He salvaged his day with a touchdown, but his longest run only went for 10 yards.
Julius Chestnut: 2 carries, 26 yards
Chestnut had the Titans’ best rush of the day, bouncing to the outside for a 27-yard gain.
Wide Receiver/Tight End
Elic Ayomanor: 5 targets, 4 receptions, 38 yards, 1 TD
The rookie continued to show some chemistry with Cam Ward, scoring in back-to-back games. The score came in garbage time, but Ayomanor was targeted in the end zone twice in a row. The Titans project to play from behind plenty, so he should have more opportunities moving forward.
Calvin Ridley: 7 targets, 1 reception, 27 yards
Ridley led the team in targets with seven, but he only managed one catch. The bright side is that the targets were there, and the Titans will continue to have to throw, but we need to see Ridley be more efficient on his targets, and it could cut into his upside if rookie Elic Ayomanor becomes a staple in the red zone. There were plenty of missed opportunities for Ridley in this game:
- Cam Ward missed Ridley early in the game on an out route.
- Ridley almost managed to catch a deflected ball.
- Ridley was targeted in the end zone late in the game but couldn’t haul it in.
- Cam Ward overthrew Ridley on a deep ball late in the game when he had a step on his defender.
Chig Okonkwo: 6 targets, 5 receptions, 66 yards
Chig led the Titans in receptions and receiving yards in this game. He played on 46 of 70 snaps, but that was 19 more than fellow TE Gunnar Helm. Cam Ward also just missed Chig on a seam route that would have been a nice gain. It was Chig’s best game of the season so far, so hopefully we will see his snap share increase.
Tyler Lockett: 4 targets, 4 receptions, 37 yards
Gunnar Helm: 3 targets, 3 receptions, 27 yards
Van Jefferson: 1 target, 1 reception, 8 yards
Jefferson did have a couple of plays called back due to penalties, but he isn’t fantasy relevant.
Chimere Dike: 4 targets, 3 receptions, 2 yards, 2 carries, 3 yards
With some usage on offense, Dike likely has some utility in leagues that reward for return yards. The Titans’ kick returner should get plenty of opportunities; Dike had six returns for 162 yards in this game and was stopped just short of a touchdown on a jet sweep in the red zone.
